Job Title:

Cybersecurity Engineer

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Implement technical security controls supporting a cloud-hosted enterprise digital services platform

  • Collaborate with engineers, infrastructure teams, and security personnel to ensure applications and systems follow secure configuration practices

  • Monitor system security posture and assist with vulnerability identification and remediation activities

  • Support integration of security practices within application development and deployment workflows

  • Assist with security monitoring and incident response support activities

  • Work with DevSecOps teams to incorporate security scanning and validation processes into development pipelines

  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of security related issues affecting application or infrastructure environments

  • Participate in Agile delivery activities and collaborate with technical teams to support secure system operations

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related technical field

  • Five or more years of experience supporting cybersecurity engineering or security operations activities

  • Experience implementing security controls and secure system configurations

  • Experience supporting vulnerability identification, remediation, and security monitoring activities

  • Experience supporting enterprise digital platforms or web-based applications.

  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments and collaborating with engineering teams

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to security operations and system protection

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting security practices for applications hosted in cloud environments such as AWS

  • Experience supporting DevSecOps environments integrating security testing into development workflows

  • Security certifications such as Security+, CISSP, or similar are a plus

  • Experience supporting federal or large enterprise technology programs

Other Requirements

  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment and government background investigation to include FBI fingerprints.

  • This position requires access to U.S. Government facilities and systems. U.S. Citizenship, a valid driver's license, transportation, and auto insurance are required.

Physical Demands:

Works in office areas. Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. Uses computer, telephones, copiers, printers and other office equipment.
