About The Role

The Data Analyst turns product, customer, and operational data into reliable analysis that supports product decisions, growth planning, and business performance. The role works across SQL-based warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery, dbt models, and BI tools to define metrics, investigate trends, and make complex data accessible to decision-makers.

The analyst partners with product managers, engineers, and business leaders to build trusted reporting and answer high-priority questions with rigor. This role matters because consistent metric definitions, well-designed dashboards, and clear analysis directly influence how teams allocate resources and measure outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Query and analyze large datasets using SQL to identify trends, explain performance changes, and answer recurring and ad hoc business questions

  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting in Looker, Tableau, or Mode, ensuring stakeholders have timely access to accurate metrics

  • Define, document, and monitor core business and product metrics in partnership with product, finance, marketing, and operations teams

  • Develop reusable data models and transformations in dbt, applying testing and documentation standards to improve reporting reliability

  • Investigate data quality issues by tracing discrepancies across source systems, warehouse tables, pipelines, and downstream dashboards

  • Design analyses for experiments, funnels, cohorts, retention, and segmentation; communicate findings with clear recommendations and appropriate caveats

  • Present concise written and visual analyses to technical and non-technical audiences, translating ambiguous questions into measurable decisions

What We Are Looking For

  • 1–3 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, product analytics, or a related quantitative role

  • Advanced SQL skills, including joins, CTEs, window functions, aggregations, and query optimization on analytical datasets

  • Hands-on experience with a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks SQL

  • Experience building production dashboards and self-service reporting in Looker, Tableau, Mode, Power BI, or an equivalent BI platform

  • Working knowledge of data modeling and transformation practices, including dbt, dimensional modeling, metric definitions, and data quality testing

  • Strong analytical communication skills, with the ability to explain methodology, limitations, and recommendations to varied stakeholders

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, mathematics, computer science, business analytics, or a related quantitative field; equivalent practical experience considered. Bonus: Python or R, experimentation analysis, Amplitude or Mixpanel, Airflow, and experience working with product or marketplace data
