Summary:
Goldbelt Professional Services is seeking a Data Analyst II to provide data analysis support for the Medical Product Safety Branch (MPSB).
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:

Support the Medical Product Safety Branch, working with a multidisciplinary team.

Develop analytic plans for research studies using large, relational administrative datasets to address medication safety questions and inform digital quality measures.

Perform data analysis of large datasets using R and/or Python, attending trainings on new programming languages as needed.

Translate SAS code to R.

Serve as an analyst, independently or as part of a team, on public health programs, projects, and studies.

Provide consultation support on program standards, policies, strategies, goals, and evaluation plans.

Participate during CDC response activities and training exercises under direction of the DHQP Team Lead; duties include staffing the EOC desk to help support CDC's mission.
Qualifications:
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:

Knowledge of the principles, concepts, methods, and techniques of public health research and evaluation to analyze, evaluate, and provide expert advice and consultation.

Knowledge of the principles, methods, applications, and state-of-the-art technology in the position's scientific area of responsibility to provide direction and guidance on critical and complex issues.

Ability to communicate orally and in writing to make clear, convincing presentations.

Knowledge of the rules, procedures, and principles that govern intramural and extramural program development, monitoring, and evaluation.

Highly proficient in using Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).

Excellent judgment and decision-making; capable of working independently with ability to multitask successfully.

Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication in interpersonal exchanges.

Highly organized with great attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or related field.

1 – 2 years of experience providing public health data analysis and manipulating, cleaning, and reporting data using a variety of statistical functions.

Professional working knowledge of R and/or Python is required.

Knowledge of data management systems and application of data management software.
-
Previous experience working with the government procedures and guidelines.

Ability to obtain and maintain CDC Public Trust Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Public Health, or related field.

3 – 5 years of experience providing public health data analysis and manipulating, cleaning, and reporting data using a variety of statistical functions.

Prior experience working with the CDC is highly desired to understand the culture and environment.
Pay and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $100,000.00 annually.
