About Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC)

Massachusetts Breast Cancer Coalition (MBCC) is dedicated to preventing environmental causes of breast cancer through community education, research advocacy, and changes to public policy.

We are seeking a student intern to help manage and clean MBCC’s Excel databases to ensure accuracy, organization, and efficiency in our outreach and communications efforts.

Position Description

Interns must commit to at least 15 hours per week, in the morning (we can be flexible). While this internship is 100% remote, there may be opportunities to attend in-person events.

This is a highly visible position with frequent communication with MBCC’s Executive Director. This internship will run from September until the project is complete.

Core Responsibilities May Include:

  • Review, clean, and update Excel spreadsheets containing contact and outreach data.

  • Ensure data accuracy, standardization, and consistency across multiple database tabs.

  • Create and apply formulas, filters, and formatting to improve database usability.

  • Maintain and expand outreach contact lists in support of MBCC programs.

  • Collaborate with MBCC team members to integrate new contacts and event leads into existing databases.

  • Track and document updates for version control.

Expected Outcome Timeline

By November - complete Hopkinton ATT database By February - complete ATT Cape Cod Database By April - complete ATT AWG database By June - complete LGBTQ database

*You will be required to send a weekly email report of accomplishments completed on the above tasks!*

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in public health, data management, business administration, or a closely related field

  • Minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, sorting/filtering, conditional formatting, and basic data analysis)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, English fluency is a must

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines

  • Familiarity with Gmail, Dropbox, Zoom, and Microsoft Office
