Snowline Gold is seeking a Data Analyst to support data-driven decision-making across the organization. Reporting to the Director of Data & Digital Systems, this role will focus on designing and maintaining engineering and environmental databases, automating data pipelines, preparing reporting datasets, and delivering analytical insights that support business and project decisions.
The successful candidate will work closely with engineering, environment and technical teams to understand business requirements, organize and validate data from multiple sources, and develop reliable reporting solutions. The role requires strong analytical thinking, practical database skills, and the ability to translate business questions into meaningful data products.
Location: This role is based in either Whitehorse, Yukon or Vancouver, British Columbia. Occasional travel to project sites, laboratories, technical meetings, or other company locations may be required. The position is primarily office-based and involves collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Requirements

Bachelorโs degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Geoscience, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.

Approximately 3-6 years of experience in a data analyst, reporting analyst, business analyst, database analyst, or similar role.

Working knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts.

Experience with database design, data modelling, structured datasets, or reporting environments.

Specific experience with building and managing environmental and engineering databases is preferred (I.e. geotechnical, water quality, hydrogeology and geochemistry).

Familiarity with Python or another scripting language for data processing and automation.

Experience creating reports, dashboards, or visualizations using business intelligence tools.

Understanding of data quality, documentation, governance, and reporting controls.

Ability to work with large, complex, and sometimes inconsistent datasets.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

High attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to handle confidential information.

Interest in AI and modern data tools, with a willingness to learn new technologies.

Experience in mining, mineral exploration, project development, infrastructure, or another data-intensive industry.

Familiarity with cloud databases, data warehouses, ERP systems, GIS systems, document management platforms, or business intelligence tools.

Exposure to engineering, exploration, laboratory, environmental, project, or financial datasets.

Experience supporting management, project, board, sustainability, or financial reporting.

Knowledge of data pipeline orchestration, automated testing, or statistical tools such as R.

Basic spatial data literacy, including GIS concepts and common spatial file formats.

Understanding of Canadian mining project development, permitting, ESG reporting, or public-company reporting environments.

Data Management & Automation

Design, build, and maintain databases, reporting tables, and structured datasets.

Develop and support automated data ingestion processes that load, validate, and refresh data from multiple internal and external sources.

Implement data quality controls, monitoring, reconciliation, and load logging to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Standardize and organize consultant, laboratory, and other third-party data while maintaining traceability to source documents.

Support data governance through documentation, data dictionaries, common definitions, and reporting standards.
Analysis & Reporting

Develop SQL queries, database views, data models, dashboards, and recurring reports.

Extract, clean, validate, and analyze data from databases, spreadsheets, cloud applications, GIS platforms, and other business systems.

Prepare visualizations, trend analyses, reconciliations, management reports, and ad hoc analytical outputs.
Business Partnership

Collaborate with engineering, environmental, exploration, and corporate teams to understand business requirements and define key metrics.

Translate stakeholder needs into practical database structures, reporting solutions, and analytical outputs.

Improve data accessibility, consistency, and reporting reliability across the organization.
