Data & Analytics Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Data & Analytics Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud-based data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipeline development, and business intelligence tools, enabling the organization to make data-driven decisions with reliable and well-structured data.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) to ingest, transform, and load data from multiple source systems.

• Build and optimize data models and pipelines within Azure Synapse Analytics for efficient data warehousing and analytics.

• Work with Google BigQuery to manage, query, and optimize large-scale datasets for analytical workloads.

• Develop interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI to support business stakeholders.

• Write efficient, optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis across various platforms.

• Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across pipelines and reporting layers.

• Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to understand reporting and data requirements.

• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance issues, ensuring timely and accurate data delivery.

• Implement best practices for data governance, security, and documentation.

• Support ad-hoc data requests and analysis as needed by business teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.

• X+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar role.

• Strong hands-on experience with:

• Google BigQuery — writing optimized queries, managing datasets, performance tuning

• Power BI — dashboard design, DAX, data modeling, report publishing

• Azure Synapse Analytics — data warehousing, pipeline integration

• Azure Data Factory (ADF) — pipeline orchestration, data ingestion, transformation workflows

• SQL — advanced query writing, stored procedures, performance optimization

• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and ETL/ELT best practices.

• Experience working with structured and semi-structured data (CSV, JSON, Parquet, etc.).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

• Good communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and translate business needs into technical solutions.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Python or PySpark for data processing.

• Familiarity with other cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) beyond Azure and BigQuery.

• Knowledge of CI/CD practices for data pipeline deployment.

• Experience with data governance and security frameworks.

• Prior experience in [specific industry, e.g., banking, retail, healthcare] is a plus.

Pay: AED14,000.00 - AED18,000.00 per month
