The Opportunity
Join a critical payroll compliance program where your expertise will directly influence fair, accurate, and compliant outcomes for employees. You'll combine deep payroll knowledge with advanced data modelling capabilities to transform complex payroll, workforce, and HR data into robust, auditable solutions that support large-scale historical recalculations and entitlement payments. This is an opportunity to work on a high-impact program, partnering with Payroll, IR, Legal, and Data teams to solve complex challenges and deliver meaningful results.

Design and deliver calculation-ready payroll data models that support large-scale compliance activities.

Transform payroll, HR, and time and attendance data into structured, auditable datasets for complex calculations.

Build data solutions that support Awards, Enterprise Agreements, penalties, overtime, allowances, and averaging arrangements.

Analyse, map, and reconcile data from multiple payroll and workforce management systems.

Implement data quality controls, lineage, and audit trails to ensure transparency and regulatory compliance.

Produce clear, defensible documentation including data mappings, dictionaries, assumptions, and transformation logic.

Collaborate with Payroll, Industrial Relations, Legal, and remediation specialists to deliver accurate and defensible outcomes.
About You
You're a payroll data expert who thrives on solving complex problems and turning intricate payroll rules into practical data solutions. With experience in payroll entitlement calculations, transformation, or underpayment programs, you understand the importance of accuracy, governance, and stakeholder confidence. You combine strong technical capability with a practical understanding of Australian payroll legislation and enjoy working in fast-paced, high-profile environments where your work makes a tangible impact.

3-5+ years' experience in data modelling, data engineering, or analytics roles, working with complex, time-based datasets.

Hands-on experience supporting Australian payroll, payroll transformation, or entitlement programs.

Strong knowledge of Awards, Enterprise Agreements, penalties, overtime, allowances, loadings, and averaging arrangements.

Advanced SQL skills with experience preparing large-scale, calculation-ready datasets.

Experience integrating and reconciling payroll, HR, and time and attendance data across multiple systems.

Strong understanding of effective-dated data, historical rate changes, lookback periods, and payroll recalculations.

Proven ability to produce audit-ready documentation and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
