Job description

What to Expect

The Manufacturing Software & Analytics team is looking for a Data Engineer to support the automation of reports and actions, as well as manufacturing data analytics. You’ll also be responsible for performing advanced analytics, creating infrastructure and data pipelines, developing analytical models and making data applications/visualizations that enable cross functional teams to leverage a wealth of manufacturing, equipment and vehicle data both efficiently and effectively.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze high-volume manufacturing, equipment, and product field data from multiple sources to extract actionable statistics and insights on failures, trends, and performance—driving improvements in quality, throughput, process efficiency, and customer experience

  • Build, maintain, and enhance data aggregation pipelines using Python, Apache Airflow, Spark, and SQL; acquire data from primary/secondary sources and ensure data quality

  • Create powerful visualizations, dashboards, and reports with in-house tools, Streamlit, and Grafana to monitor key metrics, depict data stories, and support decision-making

  • Conduct end-to-end analyses: gather requirements, process and model data, apply statistical techniques, perform root-cause investigations of system/metric changes

  • Collaborate with software, controls, process, and quality engineers to improve data collection, reporting tools, and resolve issues in a high-volume manufacturing environment

  • Maintain existing visualizations, pipelines, databases, and dashboards while fulfilling enhancement requests

  • Dive deep into investigations of potential system issues, using data to arrive at logical conclusions and to convince the team what action is necessary

  • Perform data quality validations to ensure data creation is as per the business needs and expectations

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Statistics or Equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of experience writing scripts or programs with Python OR Go-Lang

  • 2+ years of experience with SQL database queries

  • 2+ years of experience building analytical dashboards

  • 1+ year of experience with Git

  • Proven hands-on experience in data science, quantitative/statistical analysis, modeling, and data-driven problem solving

  • Drive to apply predictive models and optimization techniques (e.g., integer linear programming) to support operational decision-making

  • Knowledge of various data communication protocols (e.g. REST API, WebSocket)

  • Able to work under pressure while collaborating and managing competing demands with tight deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to quickly translate needs into data analysis problems and effectively communicate learnings
