Job Title: Data Scientist I
This is a Hybrid position based out of the Fairport, New York Office
** Position Summary ** **: **
The Data Scientist will assist in developing, implementing, and automating predictive analytical models leveraging the Company’s data assets and statistical analysis tools. The Analyst will provide support for mining data to identify behavior patterns, predict trends, and forecast outcomes to support data-driven decisions and drive change to increase efficiencies and insights. This position will report to the Director, Information Analysis and will have regular communication with business management to support projects, enhancements, and exploratory requests. The Data Scientist will participate in projects aligned with the Company’s Strategic Business Plan, process improvement activities, and cross functional data/system management projects that align data and expected results.
** Essential Duties & Responsibilities: **

Assist with analyzing, documenting, and automating existing manual predictive models using statistical analysis and data discovery tools

Assist with developing automated standard analyses, predictive and descriptive models to support consumer collection analytics

Leverage the data warehouse, operational systems, existing models, and syndicated data to assist in producing data discoveries which will be presented to and utilized by the Executive Team

Provide ad hoc data mining support to business functions

Maintain working relationships with IS, Finance, and Operations with the focus on understanding the data sources used by the Company for decision support

Maintain working relationships with peers and vendors supporting the ongoing projects and delivered solutions

Adhere to ConServe’s Blueprint Quality Management System, Code of Conduct, and Compliance Program

** Education: **

Bachelor’s Degree

Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline preferred

Master’s Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline highly preferred
** Skills/ Requirements: **
-
One (1) year of hands-on academic and/or work experience in complex analysis and hands-on development of analytics and decision support models
-
One (1) year required, two (2) years preferred academic and/or work experience in R, SAS, SPSS or related software packages
-
Related work experience with SQL and data warehouse and business intelligence tools preferred

Related work experience in gathering requirements from business management teams for business analysis and management preferred

Working knowledge of application development experience within a Microsoft Office environment using SQL Server, Excel, Access, and VBA preferred

High aptitude for problem solving and analytical thinking

Highly organized, able to work independently, motivated to successfully meet deadlines, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task

Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communications skills with the ability to communicate technical solutions to non-technical audiences

Will be affiliated with the Fairport, New York Office and must travel to this office or other offices when required.

A secure internet connection, to plug in ConServe equipment into a hardline Ethernet port when working remote.

A private work area in which work activities can be conducted

U.S. Citizenship or lawful Permanent Resident alien with three or more years as a permanent resident in the United States.

Ability to obtain and maintain Government Security Clearance
