ISI Markets
Job description
About ISI Emerging Markets
ISI Emerging Markets Group delivers intelligence, data and analytics on emerging and frontier markets. Through brands including CEIC, EMIS, EPFR, REDD and iMoneyNet, we provide economic, company, industry, fund-flow, credit and liquidity intelligence to financial institutions, corporations, governments and academic organisations worldwide.
Our products help clients make informed research, investment, risk-management and business decisions.
The Role
We are looking for a Data Solutions Consultant to support strategic sales opportunities by understanding client needs and demonstrating how ISI data can support their workflows.
You will work closely with Sales, Product, Data, Technology and Delivery teams to design practical solutions using ISIâs platforms, APIs, feeds and file-based delivery options. You will combine consultative discovery, financial-data knowledge and technical confidence to help clients evaluate coverage, delivery methods and integration approaches.
This is a client-facing pre-sales role. It is not a software-engineering position, but you should be comfortable discussing data structures, APIs, integrations and implementation considerations with both business and technical stakeholders.
The role will primarily support clients across the Americas. Experience supporting asset managers, investment banks, research teams, corporates or data and technology teams is beneficial. Familiarity with institutional investment workflows, fund-flow data, emerging-market research or API-based data integration would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
⢠  Lead discovery meetings and workshops to understand client business challenges, data requirements, workflows and intended outcomes.
⢠  Translate client needs into clear, practical solution requirements.
⢠  Design and present solutions using ISI datasets, platforms, APIs, data feeds and file-delivery methods.
⢠  Deliver tailored product demonstrations, presentations and proof-of-concept exercises.
⢠  Advise clients on data coverage, methodology, history, frequency, licensing, formats and delivery options.
⢠  Define solution scope, delivery approach, dependencies and success criteria.
⢠  Prepare clear handover documentation for Data Delivery Managers following agreement of a solution.
⢠  Support implementation discussions when clarification is required, while Delivery retains ownership of onboarding and execution.
⢠  Identify recurring client requirements and communicate structured feedback to Product and Data teams.
Skills and Experience
⢠  Approximately 3â5 years of experience in pre-sales, solutions consulting, data consulting, financial information, analytics or another relevant client-facing role.
⢠  Strong discovery and consultative-selling skills, with the ability to understand client requirements and translate them into a practical data solution.
⢠  Experience with macroeconomic, company, industry, fund-flow, credit, liquidity or alternative data.
⢠  Experience discussing data, technology or analytical solutions with clients and internal stakeholders.
⢠  Working knowledge of APIs, Python, R, data feeds, SFTP, file-based delivery and general data-integration concepts.
⢠  Familiarity with API-based, AI-assisted or MCP-enabled data workflows.
⢠  Ability to review sample data, explore APIs and communicate an appropriate delivery or integration approach.
⢠  Strong presentation, written communication and stakeholder-management skills.
⢠  Experience supporting enterprise sales opportunities, RFPs, client pilots or proof-of-concept engagements.
⢠  Ability to manage several opportunities concurrently and work effectively across commercial and technical teams.
⢠  Experience supporting asset managers, banks, research teams, corporates, consultancies or government institutions.
We recognise that candidates may not meet every preferred requirement. We value strong client engagement skills, commercial awareness, intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn complex data products.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 6â12 months, the successful candidate will be expected to:
-
Build strong working knowledge of ISIâs key datasets and delivery capabilities.
-
Lead discovery meetings, demonstrations and workshops with increasing independence.
-
Produce accurate, commercially relevant and technically feasible solution recommendations.
-
Contribute to the progression of strategic sales opportunities.
-
Improve the quality and consistency of solution handovers to Delivery.
-
Build trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
-
Contribute repeatable use cases, client insight and solution materials to the wider team.
