Currently, we are looking for a "Database Developer

"

to work on significant projects for our esteemed Insurance client.

• Contract role

• Sydney or canberra Only

• Hybrid work Arrangement

• NV2 security clearance

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust

  backend applications, services, and data-processing components

  to support Targeting Systems.

• Develop and integrate

  RESTful APIs and backend services

  to enable seamless communication between applications, databases, and external systems.

• Design and implement efficient

  database integration solutions

  , including data access layers, queries, stored procedures, and data models.

• Develop

  scalable, secure, and high-performing data services

  capable of supporting growing data volumes and application workloads.

• Implement appropriate

  security, authentication, authorisation, and data protection

  practices across backend services and APIs.

• Optimise backend services, APIs, and database components for

  performance, reliability, scalability, and availability

  .

• Troubleshoot and resolve backend, API, database, and data-processing issues across development, testing, and production environments.

• Collaborate with software engineers, data engineers, solution architects, testers, and other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement activities.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in

  backend software development

  using modern programming languages and frameworks.

• Strong experience developing and integrating

  RESTful APIs and backend services

  .

• Strong knowledge of

  database integration, SQL, data modelling, and database development

  .

• Experience designing and developing

  scalable, secure, and reliable data services

  .

• Strong understanding of API security, authentication, authorisation, and secure data handling.

• Experience with application performance tuning, scalability, and database optimisation.

• Understanding of

  microservices, cloud platforms, CI/CD, and modern software development practices

  is highly desirable.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary technology teams.
