About the role

Reporting to the Managing Director, this is an exciting opportunity to join an automotive dealer group as a Dealership Accountant. In this full-time role, you will be based in our office in Alexandria, NSW. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality accounting and reporting support to the group's operations.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and statements for the dealer group, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis

  • Support the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial data

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor invoicing and customer billing, as well as contract verification, on-road costs, and aftermarket details

  • Manage service-related receivables and payables, covering mechanical, warranty, and parts operations

  • Assist with product pricing, budgets, forecasts, and other ad-hoc financial analysis

  • Process weekly supplier payments, including quotation/contract review and payment approval

  • Review OEM policies and rebate margin schedules in a timely manner

  • Liaise with various internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support operational decision-making

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls

What we're looking for

  • Strong intention and exciting in Electric car industry and challenge career opptunity

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance

  • Proven experience (1-3 years) in a similar dealer group or automotive industry accounting role

  • Strong technical accounting skills, with a good understanding of financial reporting and analysis

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data

  • Proficient in the use of accounting software, spreadsheets and other financial systems

  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for providing high-quality financial information

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
