Role Description

The DevOps Engineer / Associate Software Engineer role is a part-time, remote position focused on supporting and improving development and deployment workflows for community projects. Day-to-day tasks include contributing to software development, configuring and managing CI pipelines, and maintaining infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code practices. The role involves collaborating with other ambassadors to automate deployments, monitor system performance, and ensure reliable, secure, and efficient environments. The DevOps Engineer / Associate Software Engineer will also document processes, share best practices, and participate in technical discussions and learning sessions.

Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong skills in Software Development and an understanding of modern development workflows.
Candidates should possess skills in Continuous Integration and basic System Administration to support build and deployment pipelines.
Candidates should possess experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for provisioning and managing environments.
Candidates should possess proficiency with Linux for managing servers, troubleshooting, and automation tasks.
Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and collaborative development practices.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting and communicate clearly with distributed teams.
Interest in DevOps, cloud platforms (e.g., Azure), and learning new tools and technologies.
Current student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is beneficial.
