Role Description

The DevOps Engineer / Associate Software Engineer is a part-time, remote role focused on building and maintaining the technical infrastructure that supports Learn Photoshop with AI’s learning platform and internal tools. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions, maintaining CI pipelines, and supporting deployment workflows. The role involves assisting with software development tasks, enhancing existing applications, and contributing to integrations between the platform and AI-related services. The engineer will also perform system administration on Linux-based environments, monitor system performance, and help improve reliability, scalability, and security. Collaboration with other team members to troubleshoot issues, document processes, and support ongoing platform enhancements is expected.

Qualifications

Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices for managing cloud or virtualized environments.
Foundational experience in Software Development, including writing, testing, and maintaining code in at least one modern programming language.
Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines and automated build, test, and deployment processes.
Practical System Administration skills with Linux, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time hours effectively, and communicate clearly with distributed teams.
Interest in or exposure to AI tools, APIs, or workflows, especially as they relate to design or education, is beneficial.
Relevant coursework, certifications, or practical project experience in DevOps, software engineering, or cloud technologies is a plus.
