DevOps Engineer + HPC

Duties

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable DevOps pipelines utilizing tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, and TFS to automate software build, testing, and deployment processes.

• Manage containerization systems including Docker and Kubernetes to facilitate efficient application deployment across cloud and on-premises environments.

• Configure and oversee cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, OpenStack, and Microsoft Azure to support HPC workloads and enterprise applications.

• Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, and Chef to ensure consistent environment provisioning and disaster recovery readiness.

• Monitor system performance with tools like New Relic, Splunk, Elasticsearch, and IT monitoring tools to proactively troubleshoot issues and optimize resource utilization.

• Administer virtualization technologies including VMware and UNIX/Linux virtualization systems to maximize hardware efficiency.

• Collaborate with development teams to implement continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines supporting microservices architectures with RESTful APIs and web services.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Linux/Unix system administration with proficiency in CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, or similar distributions.

• Strong background in cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or OpenStack; experience with SaaS solutions is a plus.

• Hands-on knowledge of containerization systems like Docker and Kubernetes for deploying scalable applications in HPC environments.

• Familiarity with scripting languages including Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, Python, Groovy, Perl, Ruby, Go, and T-SQL for automation tasks.

• Experience managing enterprise software such as WebSphere Application Server, Weblogic Server, JBoss/WildFly, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL/MariaDB databases; knowledge of SQL/PLSQL is essential.

• Skilled in configuring network security features including firewalls and identity & access management systems to ensure cloud security compliance.

• Understanding of distributed systems architecture involving TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, TCP connections, WAN/LAN networks for reliable data transfer.

• Knowledge of high availability strategies for disaster recovery planning and incident response within complex IT infrastructures.

• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies like Scrum or Kanban; experience with requirements gathering and requirements management is advantageous.

Pay: $55.00 - $66.00 per hour
