Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with strong UAE experience in electrical design for construction and interior fit-out projects. The candidate will be responsible for electrical design, calculations, drawings, technical submissions, authority requirements, and coordination with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.

Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Design & Engineering

• Develop electrical designs for commercial, residential, retail, hospitality, and interior fit-out projects.

• Prepare electrical load schedules, single-line diagrams (SLD), voltage-drop calculations, cable sizing, and DB schedules.

• Design and coordinate:

• Lighting systems

• Small power systems

• Distribution systems

• Emergency lighting

• Earthing and lightning protection

• Low-voltage systems

• Generator and UPS systems

• Electrical containment and cable routing

• Review electrical requirements against project specifications and applicable UAE standards.

Drawings & Documentation

• Prepare and review electrical layouts, schematic diagrams, shop drawings, and coordination drawings.

• Produce lighting, power, containment, earthing, and electrical room layouts.

• Prepare technical specifications, material submittals, and equipment schedules.

• Review consultant/client comments and incorporate required design revisions.

• Maintain accurate design documentation and revision records.

Fit-Out Coordination

• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, structural, HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, ELV, ceilings, partitions, and joinery.

• Coordinate lighting fixtures, switches, sockets, floor boxes, access panels, and other electrical points with interior finishes.

• Identify design clashes and provide practical technical solutions.

• Coordinate electrical services within ceiling voids and restricted service areas.

Authority & Consultant Coordination

• Coordinate electrical designs and submissions with relevant UAE authorities and utility providers.

• Prepare drawings and documentation required for authority approvals.

• Respond to consultant/client technical comments and RFIs.

• Ensure designs comply with applicable UAE regulations, authority requirements, and project specifications.

Site & Technical Support

• Provide technical support to site teams during project execution.

• Review site conditions and resolve design-related issues.

• Conduct site inspections when required.

• Review electrical installations against approved drawings and specifications.

• Support testing, commissioning, snagging, and project handover.

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with Project Managers, MEP Coordinators, Electrical Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, procurement teams, consultants, and subcontractors.

• Participate in design and technical coordination meetings.

• Track design deliverables and ensure timely submission of drawings and documents.

• Assist in value engineering and propose cost-effective electrical design solutions.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Minimum 5–7 years of UAE experience in electrical design.

• Strong experience in construction and/or interior fit-out projects.

• Proven experience preparing electrical calculations and design drawings.

• Strong knowledge of UAE electrical codes and authority requirements.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.

• Knowledge of Revit MEP is highly preferred.

• Working knowledge of electrical design software and calculation tools.

• Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.

• Good English communication and technical reporting skills.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Mandatory:

• UAE electrical design experience

• Construction / fit-out experience

• Strong AutoCAD skills

• Experience with electrical calculations and drawings

• Knowledge of UAE authority requirements

• Experience coordinating with consultants and MEP teams

Advantage:

• Revit MEP experience

• DEWA/ADDC/SEWA-related project experience

• Hospitality, retail, or high-end fit-out experience

• UAE driving licence

• Experience with authority approvals and inspections
