Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Design Engineer with strong experience in electrical design, drafting, LV/HV panels, and power distribution systems. The ideal candidate should be proficient in AutoCAD and have practical knowledge of Single Line Diagrams, wiring diagrams, panel GA drawings, electrical calculations, cable schedules, and package substation design.

Candidates with experience in RMU systems, transformers, and package substations will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical design and drafting drawings using AutoCAD.

• Prepare and develop:

• Single Line Diagrams (SLD)

• Wiring and control diagrams

• Panel General Arrangement (GA) drawings

• Cable schedules

• Load calculations

• Package substation layouts

• Design and develop electrical systems for:

• LV Panels

• HV Panels

• SMDBs

• Distribution Boards (DBs)

• MCCs

• ATS Panels

• Capacitor Banks

• Synchronizing Panels

• Package Substations

• Review project specifications, client requirements, drawings, and technical documentation.

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, project teams, and site teams to resolve technical issues.

• Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable IEC standards, utility authority requirements, and project specifications.

• Prepare and review electrical calculations as required for projects.

• Support production and site teams during manufacturing, FAT, installation, testing, and commissioning.

• Prepare technical submittals, compliance sheets, material approvals, and related documentation.

• Review consultant/client comments and modify drawings accordingly.

• Maintain accurate project documentation, drawing registers, and revision records.

• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure proper integration of electrical systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Good knowledge of electrical design and drafting.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.

• Practical experience in LV/HV panel and power distribution system design.

• Knowledge of package substation design.

• Familiarity with applicable IEC standards.

• Good understanding of electrical calculations, load calculations, and power distribution systems.

• Ability to read and prepare SLDs, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, and electrical layouts.

• Good communication and coordination skills.

• Ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, production teams, and site personnel.

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with hands-on experience in:

• RMU Systems

• Transformers

• Package Substations

• LV/HV Switchgear

• Power Distribution Systems

• Electrical Panel Design

• Manufacturing, FAT, Installation, or Commissioning
