Due to continued growth, we're looking for an

Electrical Design Engineer – ASP Level 3

to join our team on a full-time basis.

Reporting to the Technical Director, you'll work on a diverse range of projects across NSW, taking ownership of designs and working closely with clients, contractors and electricity distributors to deliver practical, compliant and high-quality solutions.

The Role

You'll be responsible for delivering projects from initial site investigation through to design completion and approval.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Project managing electrical design projects from commencement through to completion

• Providing electrical engineering and ASP Level 3 design solutions for our clients

• Delivering high-quality designs within agreed project timeframes

• Working collaboratively with our engineering and design team

• Communicating with clients, contractors and electricity distributors

• Undertaking site inspections, investigations and measurements

• Identifying and managing safety-in-design risks

• Making practical and technically sound decisions throughout the design process

The Projects

You'll have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of technically interesting projects across NSW, including:

• Major infrastructure upgrades

• Asset relocation and network augmentation projects

• Substation design for high-profile multi-storey residential developments

• Residential and industrial developments comprising 1,000+ lots

• Overhead and underground distribution network projects

• Projects ranging from 415V through to 132kV

This is a role where you'll have genuine exposure to a broad range of electrical infrastructure and the opportunity to develop your technical and project management capability.

What We're Looking For

We're ideally looking for an experienced ASP Level 3 designer with accreditation across the NSW electricity distribution networks.

We recognise that candidates with this combination of experience and accreditation are highly sought after and relatively rare. For the right person, we are also open to candidates who don't yet hold every accreditation but have strong ASP3 experience, the right technical capability and a willingness to obtain additional accreditations.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• ASP Level 3 Registration with the NSW Office of Energy and Climate Change

• ASP Level 3 accreditation with Endeavour Energy, Ausgrid and Essential Energy

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or equivalent

• Experience delivering ASP Level 3 designs within the NSW electricity distribution industry

• Strong knowledge of NSW electricity distributor network standards and the NSW Contestability Framework

• Demonstrated project management experience

• Experience with overhead and underground distribution and transmission design

• NER registration, or eligibility for registration, within the Electrical category

• Minimum 2 years' experience in the NSW power distribution industry

If you have strong ASP Level 3 design experience in one of the NSW electricity distributors, we'd still like to hear from you.

We're interested in people who have the technical capability, initiative and attitude to expand their experience and obtain additional distributor accreditations.

Additional Experience That Would Be Advantageous

Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:

• Private HV and LV design to AS/NZS 2067 and AS/NZS 3000

• NSW Service and Installation Rules

• Building Services Electrical Engineering

• A broad range of electrical design projects

• Earthing system design
