Electrical Design Engineer – PCB experience
Chesterfield | Hybrid working available | Up to £50,000 DOE

TBG Solutions is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with PCB experience to join our growing engineering team in Chesterfield.
This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working on bespoke projects and seeing their designs go from an initial customer requirement through to a finished, manufactured solution.
The role
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you’ll take customer requirements and turn them into bespoke electrical and electronic test solutions that are practical, manufacturable and delivered within agreed timescales and budgets.
You’ll be involved in the full engineering process, including:

Designing electronic and electrical schematics and layouts.

Creating complete PCB designs, including digital and analogue circuits.

Producing engineering drawings, assemblies, BOMs and wiring schedules.

Designing bespoke interfaces using both off-the-shelf and custom components.

Supporting system testing, fault finding and manufacturing.

Taking ownership of electrical and electronic assemblies from requirements through to delivery.

Producing accurate engineering documentation for customers and internal use.
You’ll have the opportunity to work across a wide range of bespoke engineering projects, helping our customers benefit from high-quality, innovative test and engineering solutions.
What we're looking for
You'll ideally have a degree-level qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and proven experience in a similar design role.
We're looking for someone with:

Proven experience in electrical/electronic design and engineering.

Strong PCB design experience.

Experience with both digital and analogue circuit design.

The ability to produce accurate electrical drawing packages.

Experience with system testing and fault finding.

Experience taking electronic designs through to manufacturing.

Experience using PCB design software.

The ability to create complete PCB designs and engineering drawings.

A track record of delivering projects to tight timescales and budgets.

The ability to understand and interpret customer requirements.
Desirable experience
It would be great if you also have experience with:

Microcontrollers.
-
Bespoke test equipment.
-
Automation or control systems.
-
Aerospace, Defence, Oil & Gas, Automotive or similar industries.
Who you'll be

You'll have good communication skills, strong attention to detail and the drive to take ownership of your work and deliver robust designs that can be manufactured.
