We’re seeking a permanent full-time Electrical Engineer to join our team in Cochrane, Alberta.

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

  • Design and develop new product concepts and move them through the product development pipeline from early concept to saleable product

  • Maintain and develop features for existing products

  • Support all operational technical components

  • The technical nucleus of the company

  • Continuous improvement development and technical support for manufacturing and shipping

ROLE SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Electrical Engineer is primarily responsible for the design, layout and testing of electronics for consumer sports technology products. This role will also contribute to the enhancement of the manufacturing systems 4iiii Innovations deploys globally for the fabrication of its products. The ideal candidate will have the freedom to develop using cutting edge technologies and contribute to the firmware development. Testing and validation of individual system components and finished consumer products are expected within this position..

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Design and layout of PCBAs for consumer products and manufacturing equipment

  • Assembly and testing of PCBA prototypes

  • Write firmware for said PCBA designs

  • Analysis of power meter data

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical designs into new and existing products

  • Documentation

  • Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering

  • A minimum of 5 years experience in electrical engineering, PCBA design and data analysis

  • Working knowledge of C++ and C programming

  • Basic soldering skills

  • Familiar using PCB CAD software

  • Embedded RTOS, such as Zephyr, a strong asset

  • Demonstrable aptitude for analytics and problem solving

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ADDITIONAL DETAILS**

  • Can work remotely during design phases; must work on-site in Cochrane, Alberta when assembling and testing prototypes or products
