Job description
The Electrical Engineer – Procurement & Constructability provides technical engineering support across procurement, equipment inspection, preservation, preassembly and constructability activities at the Goulburn facility. The role acts as the technical link between engineering, procurement, suppliers, warehouse operations and site installation teams, ensuring electrical equipment is compliant, prepared and installation-ready before being dispatched to site.
A key focus is identifying technical and constructability issues early, allowing inspection, preparation, testing and preassembly to be completed at the Goulburn facility wherever possible, reducing site-based labour, rework and delays.
LOCATION & ROSTER
Location: Goulburn, NSW
Roster: Monday to Friday
Project: Snowy Hydro 2.0 – Major renewable / pumped hydro infrastructure
Salary: Base up to $220K + Super
FIFO from Sydney or relocate to the local area if you prefer to be based closer to the project.

Electrical Procurement: Provide engineering input into electrical procurement packages, reviewing scopes, specifications, drawings, datasheets and vendor documentation.

Technical Review: Support technical bid evaluations, supplier clarifications and review vendor submissions for compliance with project requirements and Australian Standards.

Constructability: Review electrical designs and equipment from an installation perspective, identifying opportunities to simplify installation, reduce site labour and minimise rework.

Equipment Readiness: Support incoming inspections, testing, modification, preservation and preparation of electrical equipment prior to site delivery.

Preservation & Storage: Provide technical oversight of electrical equipment stored at Goulburn, ensuring OEM preservation requirements and project requirements are maintained.

Preassembly: Identify electrical works that can be completed at Goulburn rather than on site and provide engineering support to trades undertaking preparation, assembly and testing.

Materials & Logistics: Coordinate with warehouse, procurement and logistics teams to ensure electrical equipment is correctly identified, protected, documented and ready for transport.

Engineering Coordination: Liaise with design engineers, construction teams, commissioning personnel, suppliers, subcontractors and QA/QC to resolve technical and interface issues.

Quality & Compliance: Ensure electrical activities comply with project specifications, Australian Standards, OEM requirements, engineering documentation and HSE requirements.
Essential Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.

Experience: Relevant experience within on-site large-scale infrastructure, energy, power generation, mining, industrial or construction projects.

Technical Skills: Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and vendor documentation, with a practical understanding of electrical installation and constructability.

Procurement: Experience reviewing electrical procurement packages, technical specifications, supplier submissions or vendor documentation.

Electrical Knowledge: Understanding of equipment such as switchgear, transformers, motors, cable containment, earthing and control systems.

Standards: Familiarity with Australian Standards, project specifications and OEM requirements.

Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across engineering, procurement, construction and supplier teams.

Experience with equipment inspection, preservation, testing or commissioning will be highly regarded.

Able to commit to a Monday to Friday roster in Goulburn for the duration of the project.2 year contract to begin with.
