Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience, specializing in major events, sports venues, and Facilities Management (FM) operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, operation, maintenance, and optimization of electrical systems across sports facilities, event venues, stadiums, and associated infrastructure.
The role requires expertise in delivering electrical support for large-scale sporting and entertainment events while ensuring compliance with safety standards, operational excellence, and uninterrupted venue operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Systems Management

Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems including LV/MV systems, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, generators, lighting systems, and power distribution networks.

Ensure the reliability and availability of all electrical infrastructure across venues and facilities.

Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with FM best practices.

Monitor electrical performance and recommend system upgrades and energy-efficiency improvements.
Events & Sports Venue Support

Provide electrical engineering support for major sports events, tournaments, exhibitions, concerts, and other large-scale events.

Coordinate event power requirements, temporary electrical installations, and contingency planning.

Ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical event operations, broadcasting facilities, scoreboards, lighting systems, and field-of-play infrastructure.

Support event setup, testing, commissioning, and post-event decommissioning activities.
Facilities Management (FM)

Manage FM electrical maintenance contracts and service providers.

Review maintenance schedules, service reports, and asset performance data.

Ensure all electrical assets are maintained to required operational and safety standards.

Participate in asset lifecycle planning, budgeting, and capital replacement programs.
Health, Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with local regulations, international electrical standards, and HSE requirements.

Conduct electrical risk assessments and safety audits.

Support emergency response procedures and business continuity planning.

Ensure all electrical works are executed safely and in accordance with permits and approved procedures.
Project Management

Support refurbishment, upgrade, and infrastructure projects within sports and event facilities.

Review electrical designs, drawings, method statements, and technical submittals.

Coordinate with consultants, contractors, venue operators, and stakeholders.

Monitor project progress, quality, cost, and schedule compliance.
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.

Professional engineering certifications will be an advantage.
Experience
-
Minimum 8 years of experience in Electrical Engineering.

Proven experience within Facilities Management (FM) environments.

Strong experience supporting sports venues, stadiums, arenas, or large-scale events.

Experience in event operations and temporary power solutions is highly desirable.

GCC/Qatar experience is preferred.
