Electrical Engineer – Projects & Site Operations

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and hands-on Electrical Engineer to manage and coordinate electrical projects and site activities from planning through execution, testing, commissioning, and handover.

The successful candidate should have strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, site supervision, project coordination, documentation, and contractor management. Candidates holding a valid UPDA/MMUP Electrical Engineering Classification – Grade A, B, C, or Trainee will be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise electrical works across multiple projects and sites.

• Plan and coordinate daily site activities, manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.

• Review electrical drawings, specifications, BOQs, method statements, and technical submissions.

• Supervise installation of LV systems, power distribution, lighting, DBs, panels, cables, earthing, and related electrical systems.

• Ensure electrical installations are completed according to approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable Qatar regulations.

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, MEP teams, and other project stakeholders.

• Conduct site inspections and monitor project quality, safety, progress, and productivity.

• Prepare and review shop drawings, material submittals, RFIs, inspection requests, and as-built drawings.

• Manage testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and final project handover activities.

• Monitor project schedules and ensure works are completed within agreed timelines and budgets.

• Identify technical/site issues and provide practical engineering solutions.

• Coordinate material requirements and ensure timely availability at project sites.

• Attend project progress, technical, and coordination meetings.

• Prepare daily/weekly progress reports and maintain complete project documentation.

• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements and company quality procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.

• Valid UPDA/MMUP Electrical Engineering Classification – Grade A, B, C, or Trainee is required/preferred based on project requirements.

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in Electrical/MEP projects; experienced UPDA-classified candidates are highly preferred.

• Candidates with UPDA Trainee classification and strong technical/site capabilities may also be considered.

• Qatar project and site experience is highly preferred.

• Strong knowledge of LV electrical systems, power distribution, lighting, electrical panels, cabling, earthing, and associated MEP systems.

• Experience managing projects and supervising site teams, technicians, subcontractors, and electrical installations.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical SLDs, layouts, schematics, shop drawings, and technical specifications.

• Good understanding of testing, commissioning, inspections, and project handover procedures.

• Familiarity with KAHRAMAA requirements, Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS), and applicable electrical standards is an advantage.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project documentation; Revit/BIM knowledge is an advantage.

• Strong project management, site coordination, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

• Good communication skills for coordination with clients, consultants, and contractors.

• Ability to manage multiple sites and work under project deadlines.

• Valid Qatar Driving License is mandatory.

• Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
