Electrical Engineer โ Documentation

Job Purpose
Responsible for preparing, reviewing, coordinating, controlling, and maintaining electrical engineering and project documentation throughout the project lifecycle. The role ensures that all electrical documents, drawings, technical submissions, records, and as-built information are accurate, properly coordinated, updated, and submitted in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and applicable standards.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and maintain electrical engineering documentation, including drawings, calculations, specifications, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, inspection requests, and technical reports.

Coordinate electrical documentation with MEP, civil, architectural, structural, ELV, HVAC, plumbing, and other disciplines.

Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, design changes, RFIs, technical queries, and site instructions to ensure proper documentation and traceability.

Maintain document registers for electrical drawings, material submittals, technical submittals, RFIs, method statements, inspection documents, and approvals.

Ensure all electrical documents are submitted, tracked, revised, and closed within the required timelines.

Prepare and maintain
As-Built Drawings
, red-line drawings, equipment schedules, cable schedules, panel schedules, load schedules, and other handover documentation.

Support the preparation and updating of electrical BOQs, quantity take-offs, procurement documentation, and technical comparison sheets.
-
Review supplier and subcontractor documentation for compliance with project specifications and approved materials.
-
Coordinate responses to consultant/client comments and ensure comments are incorporated into revised submissions.
-
Maintain proper revision control and ensure that superseded documents are clearly identified and removed from active use.

Prepare documentation required for testing and commissioning, including test reports, inspection records, commissioning records, and equipment documentation.

Compile operation and maintenance manuals, warranties, certificates, test reports, and other final handover documents.

Coordinate with QA/QC and construction teams to ensure that inspection and quality documentation accurately reflects site installation.

Maintain documentation for electrical systems including LV/MV systems, lighting, power distribution, earthing, lightning protection, generators, UPS, ATS, PV systems, and other electrical systems.

Ensure documentation complies with project specifications, applicable
IEC, NFPA, NEC, SASO
, and client requirements.

Assist the Project Manager and Engineering Manager in preparing progress reports, technical reports, and documentation status reports.

Follow up with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments to close outstanding documentation and approvals.

Maintain organized electronic and hard-copy filing systems in accordance with the project's Document Control Procedure.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in
Electrical Engineering

Minimum
3โ5 years of experience
in electrical engineering documentation, construction, MEP, or project engineering.

Strong knowledge of electrical engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical documentation.

Experience working with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Good understanding of construction and MEP project workflows.
-
Knowledge of document control procedures and revision management.
