Role Description
An
Electrical Engineer
is responsible for designing, developing, inspecting, testing, commissioning, maintaining, and improving electrical systems, equipment, and installations. The role works closely with project teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure electrical works meet technical specifications, safety standards, quality requirements, applicable regulations, project schedules, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, review, and oversee electrical systems, equipment, installations, and engineering solutions.

Prepare and review electrical drawings, schematics, layouts, specifications, calculations, and technical documents.

Coordinate electrical designs with civil, mechanical, structural, MEP, and other engineering disciplines.

Inspect electrical installations, equipment, materials, and construction works for compliance with approved designs and specifications.

Conduct electrical testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance verification.

Review electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, cables, switchgear, transformers, generators, and control systems.

Identify electrical faults, technical issues, safety risks, design conflicts, and construction deficiencies.

Develop and implement corrective actions, technical solutions, and system improvements.

Review contractor drawings, material submittals, method statements, inspection requests, and technical submissions.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, authorities, and internal project teams.

Ensure electrical works comply with applicable
IEC, BS, UAE regulations, and health and safety standards
.

Support project planning, scheduling, cost control, procurement, installation, and technical coordination.

Conduct site inspections and monitor electrical works to ensure quality, safety, and project requirements are met.

Prepare inspection reports, testing records, technical reports, progress updates, and engineering documentation.

Support preventive maintenance, equipment upgrades, modifications, and reliability improvement programs where applicable.

Monitor project progress and resolve electrical engineering issues within agreed timelines.

Maintain accurate engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, testing records, and project documentation.

Identify opportunities to improve electrical system
safety, reliability, efficiency, performance, quality, and compliance
.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in
Electrical Engineering
or a related engineering discipline.
-
Previous experience in electrical engineering, construction, MEP, manufacturing, facilities, infrastructure, or industrial projects is preferred.

Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, distribution systems, wiring, lighting, control systems, and electrical equipment.

Experience with electrical design, installation, testing, commissioning, inspection, and troubleshooting.

Proficiency in
AutoCAD, ETAP, Revit MEP
, or other relevant engineering software is advantageous.

Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documents.

Good knowledge of
IEC, BS, UAE electrical regulations
, and applicable health and safety requirements.

Strong understanding of electrical testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, and engineering standards.

Excellent analytical, technical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication, coordination, teamwork, and stakeholder-management abilities.

Ability to coordinate effectively with consultants, contractors, suppliers, clients, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Knowledge of quality-management systems, technical inspections, NCRs, and corrective actions is advantageous.

Relevant professional engineering certification or registration is advantageous.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly
Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
