Overview
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our Facilities Maintenance department, based in Peterborough. This is a great opportunity for a qualified electrician to take on a varied role delivering planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance, alongside small works, across a portfolio of commercial, industrial, and educational sites.
You will carry out day-to-day electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and minor installation works, ensuring all works are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard, while building strong relationships with clients and site contacts.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive electrical maintenance across a portfolio of client sites

Deliver small works projects, such as rewires, upgrades, and minor refurbishment-related electrical works, in addition to routine maintenance

Diagnose and repair electrical faults, minimising downtime for clients

Undertake minor electrical installation and improvement works as required

Carry out periodic testing and inspection of electrical installations, and complete associated certification

Price and quote small works where required, liaising with the Project Manager on larger scopes

Complete accurate job sheets, reports via CAFM system.

Create RAMS for each visit

Liaise with clients and site contacts, providing a professional and reliable point of contact on site

Ensure all works comply with current health & safety legislation, including CDM regulations and relevant electrical standards (e.g. BS7671)

Manage stock, tools, and materials required for ongoing works

Support the wider Facilities Maintenance team and, where required, other trades on site
Skills
-
Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, or equivalent)

18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671) essential

Testing & Inspection qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2391) desirable

Experience working within facilities, commercial, or industrial maintenance environments

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across a range of electrical systems

Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload across multiple sites

Good communication skills, with a professional, client-facing manner
-
Full UK driving licence
