Electrical Project Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a large-scale, technically complex construction project, supporting electrical engineering activities from design development through installation, commissioning and final handover.

The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating between design and construction teams, ensuring electrical systems are delivered in accordance with project specifications, technical standards and programme requirements.

The Role

As Electrical Project Engineer, you will provide technical coordination and engineering support throughout the electrical construction lifecycle, working closely with Project Managers, Designers, Quantity Surveyors, subcontractors and site teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Review electrical designs, drawings, specifications and technical requirements.

• Coordinate design changes and practical construction solutions with engineering and design teams.

• Manage technical submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), drawing registers and approval processes.

• Ensure site teams are working from the latest approved drawings and technical documentation.

• Manage redline drawings and coordinate as-built documentation.

• Liaise with Project Managers, Designers, Quantity Surveyors and construction teams.

• Track long-lead electrical equipment and materials against the construction programme.

• Monitor subcontractor performance, installation quality and technical compliance.

• Support electrical procurement, commercial variations and technical evaluations.

• Assist with testing, commissioning and electrical systems handover.

• Coordinate Operations & Maintenance (O&M) documentation.

• Ensure compliance with electrical standards, building regulations and Environmental, Health & Safety requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as an Electrical Project Engineer within electrical or M&E construction.

• Strong electrical design knowledge or significant experience coordinating electrical design packages.

• Ability to review electrical drawings, specifications and identify technical or buildability issues.

• Experience working on large-scale, technically complex construction projects.

• Data centre project experience is highly desirable.

• Strong understanding of technical submittals, RFIs, document control and design approvals.

• Experience coordinating subcontractors, engineering teams and construction stakeholders.

• Commercial awareness, including procurement, tendering and variations.

• Relevant qualification or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Experience using AutoCAD, MS Project or electrical design software would be advantageous.
