Role Description
The Electrical Quantity Surveyor role at AFCC is a full-time, on-site position based in the Eastern Region. The individual in this role will prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), measure and verify quantities from drawings and site, and support cost estimation for tenders and ongoing projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring project costs, preparing cost reports, supporting cost planning and forecasting, and assisting in value engineering activities. The Electrical Quantity Surveyor will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams, maintain accurate documentation, and help ensure that projects are delivered within budget and aligned with contractual and quality standards.
Qualifications

Strong skills in BOQ preparation and quantity take-off for electrical works, including substations and distribution networks.

Proficiency in cost control and cost management to monitor budgets, variations, and financial performance.

Experience in cost planning and cost reporting to support forecasting, project reviews, and management decision-making.

Knowledge of electrical construction standards, materials, and installation practices, especially in medium voltage systems.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contracts with attention to detail.

Competence in using quantity surveying and estimating software, as well as MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.

Bachelorโs degree in Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.

Previous experience in electrical quantity surveying or cost engineering in power distribution or similar projects.
