Job Description

The Project

The consortium of John Holland, Bouygues Construction, Arcadis Australia, Jacobs and Ventia has been selected to build South Australia's biggest-ever road infrastructure project. In partnership with the South Australian Government, this consortium forms the Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance.

The Torrens to Darlington (T2D) Alliance, will deliver the final 10.5km section of the North-South Corridor, forming a continuous 78 km, non-stop, traffic light-free motorway, and contributing to a long-lasting legacy for the community and people of Adelaide.

The T2D Project involves constructing two separate tunnels โ€“ the Southern Tunnels and the Northern Tunnels connected by an open motorway, with a combined total distance of 10.5km, open to traffic in 2031. The T2D project comprises the tunnels, surface works including road and bridge construction in addition to services buildings and complex mechanical and electrical infrastructure. The T2D Alliance is committed to providing opportunities for local people, Aboriginal workers, apprentices, trainees and job seekers who are long-term unemployed and offers people an incredible opportunity to be a part of an iconic project.

From cable installation and electrical distribution through to CCTV, communications networks, control monitoring systems and intelligent transport systems, you will help turn engineering designs into operational infrastructure.

  • Undertake site inspections and verify completed works against approved drawings, specifications, quality requirements and inspection and test plans.

  • Assist with technical queries, requests for information, design clarifications and the resolution of site-based engineering issues.

  • Maintain accurate site records, daily reports, progress updates, as-built information and quality documentation.

  • Coordinate inspections, hold points, non-conformance reports and defect rectification with relevant project stakeholders.

  • Support subcontractor management and ensure works are undertaken in accordance with project safety requirements and approved work methodologies.

  • Assist with testing, commissioning, system integration and handover activities to ensure completed installations are ready for operation.

  • Collaborate with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and systems teams to manage interfaces and avoid clashes between work packages.

About You

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant engineering qualification.

  • Experience in a Site Engineer, Graduate Engineer or similar role within construction, infrastructure, electrical services or a related technical environment.

  • Exposure to electrical installation, power distribution, communications, cabling or technology infrastructure.

  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and construction documentation.

  • An understanding of site-based quality assurance, inspections, test plans and construction records.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to coordinate multiple activities across an active construction site.

  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work alongside subcontractors, supervisors and multidisciplinary teams.

  • A proactive approach to safety, problem-solving and delivering work right the first time.
