Embedded Software Engineer – RDK-B (Networking) | Mandarin Speaking

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with strong RDK-B (Reference Design Kit for Broadband) expertise to join our team building next-generation networking and broadband gateway products. This role requires fluency in Mandarin to support close collaboration with our engineering teams and partners in China/Taiwan.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain embedded software for broadband gateway devices using the RDK-B framework

Work on networking stack components: WiFi, Ethernet, DHCP, routing, firewall, QoS, and related protocols

Debug and optimize embedded Linux systems (Yocto/OpenWrt-based) for performance and stability

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, QA, and product management

Interface with overseas (Mandarin-speaking) engineering and ODM/OEM partners on technical requirements, integration, and issue resolution

Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and CI/CD pipeline integration

Support certification, compliance, and field issue debugging for deployed devices

Requirements

Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field

3+ years of experience in embedded software development

Hands-on experience with RDK-B stack and broadband/router/gateway platforms

Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, WiFi 802.11, DOCSIS/xDSL/PON a plus)

Proficiency in C/C++, Linux kernel/driver development, and shell scripting

Experience with Yocto Project, BusyBox, or similar embedded Linux build systems

Fluent in Mandarin and English (written and verbal) — required for daily collaboration with overseas teams

Familiarity with Git, JIRA, and Agile development practices

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Nice to Have

Experience with CCSP/TR-069/TR-181 data models

Knowledge of security protocols (IPSec, VPN, firewall)

Prior experience working with ODM/OEM partners in Asia
