Job Description

Bose Corporation is dedicated to developing breakthrough audio technologies that enrich people’s lives. While Bose is well known for its first-party consumer and automotive products, an increasingly important part of our future is enabling partners around the world to deliver differentiated audio experiences through licensed Bose technologies.

The Audio Tech organization focuses on developing scalable, portable, and high-performance audio technologies that can be deployed across a wide range of partner platforms and products.

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Embedded Software Engineer who can take ownership of delivering audio technology solutions from concept to market. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong integration and delivery skills. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end execution of platform software projects, ensuring technical alignment, integration readiness, and successful deployment across internal and external teams.

Hybrid Working Environment: 3-days/week on-site presence is required.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Project Ownership: Drive technical execution for assigned projects, from requirements through integration and validation, ensuring timely delivery of audio technology solutions.

  • Software Development: Design, implement, and optimize platform software components for embedded and RTOS-based environments using C/C++.

  • Integration Leadership: Coordinate technical integration across DSP pipelines, middleware, and partner deliverables; proactively identify and resolve system-level issues.

  • Technical Planning: Define integration strategies, maintain dependency matrices, and ensure scalability for future product lines.

  • Cross-Functional Engagement: Act as the primary technical point of contact for systems, QA, and security teams; represent software interests in program-level discussions.

  • Performance & Quality: Validate latency-sensitive audio systems, optimize for real-time performance, and ensure compliance with product requirements.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed technical notes, integration plans, and progress reports to support transparency and alignment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree with 3+ years of experience in computer engineering or related field

  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ and embedded or RTOS-based software development.

  • Experience with audio technologies, including DSP integration, low-latency audio pipelines, or room correction algorithms.

  • Working knowledge of real-time or near–real-time systems, including scheduling, latency analysis, synchronization, and performance constraints in embedded or high-performance environments.

  • Proven ability to lead technical projects and deliver complex software solutions without direct people management.

  • Solid understanding of system integration, debugging, and performance optimization.

  • Familiarity with middleware frameworks, IPC mechanisms, and hardware–software interaction.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; comfortable driving technical discussions and influencing outcomes.

  • Experience in consumer electronics or OEM/ODM collaboration is a plus.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with DSP and firmware development on platforms such as BES, Qualcomm, or AMLogic, and/or Android audio frameworks.
