Job description

At Teradar, we are pioneering a new era in perception with the world's first automotive terahertz vision sensor, delivering ultra-high-resolution imaging in any weather condition. Founded in Boston, Teradar's solid-state, chip-scale technology unlocks safer, smarter vehicles and opens the door to transformative applications in mobility, defense, and beyond.

We are looking to hire an Embedded Software Engineer:

Someone who can work across our radar signal processing embedded stack - from bare-metal firmware and RTOS-based systems to signal processing kernels, drivers, board bring-up, and system integration.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Engaging in Embedded Software Development: Contribute to the design, coding, testing, and debugging of embedded software for the Modular Terahertz Engine (MTE), which contains our heterogeneous multicore SoC compute platform featuring both DSP and RISC cores, with a focus on DSP and C/C++ programming.

  • Participating in Code Reviews: Engage in code reviews to uphold code quality, ensure adherence to coding standards, including safety-oriented coding conventions, and foster knowledge sharing within the team.

  • Writing Efficient and Maintainable Code: Produce code that is efficient, maintainable, and modular, meeting functional, performance, and FuSA requirements.

  • Collaborating on System Integration and Debugging: Work closely with system engineers, verification and validation teams, and signal processing experts to integrate and debug software across the platform, ensuring smooth MTE operation.

Required Experience

  • Education: Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (or similar)

  • Embedded Software Programming: Proficiency with C/C++.

  • Python: Proficiency with Python for scripting, tooling, and test automation.

  • DSP: Experience with DSP techniques and optimization.

  • Computer Architecture: Solid understanding of computer architecture and micro-architecture fundamentals.

  • Build & Quality Tooling: Experience with embedded build systems and toolchains, unit testing, CI/CD pipelines, and static-analysis tooling.
