Engineering Manager

Role Description

The Engineering Manager role is a part-time, hybrid position based in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. The Engineering Manager will oversee the technical aspects of software solutions and system integrations that support event operations, partner platforms, and internal tools. Day-to-day responsibilities include guiding engineering teams, setting technical direction, reviewing code and architecture, coordinating project timelines, and ensuring solutions align with business goals. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, managing technical risks, optimizing processes, and supporting continuous improvement across engineering practices. The Engineering Manager will help ensure that technology systems used for the Cross Border Connector are reliable, scalable, and secure.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Engineering Management and Team Leadership skills, with experience coaching and supporting diverse technical teams.

• Candidates should possess practical Software Development skills, ideally with exposure to web-based systems, APIs, and event or logistics-related platforms.

• Candidates should possess solid Project Management skills, including planning, prioritization, stakeholder communication, and delivery of technical initiatives.

• Candidates should possess Integration experience, such as connecting multiple systems, data sources, and partner platforms in a secure and reliable manner.

• Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Additional beneficial skills include familiarity with freight or logistics technology, experience in hybrid work environments, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, work collaboratively across cultures, and adapt to evolving priorities.
