Engineering - Senior Engineer, Software Engineering - Individual Contributor
IntePros
Job description
Our client, a global leader in medical technology, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Robotics and Enabling Technology team. In this individual contributor role, you'll build the foundational software that powers surgical robotics and clinical applications used in pharmaceutical work that directly shapes the tools surgeons rely on before, during, and after surgery.
You'll design, implement, and maintain shared biomechanics and surgical planning components across the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative application architecture, working independently and exercising sound engineering judgment within an established SDLC.
Responsibilities
-
Design, develop, and maintain foundational software components for robotics and enabling-technology clinical applications.
-
Build shared biomechanics and surgical planning components used across pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative applications for Total Hip and Total Knee surgery.
-
Own components end to end, from research and design through implementation, testing, and long-term maintenance, to make sure they're feature-complete against requirements and design specs.
-
Participate fully in the SDLC: code review, documentation, integration, testing, defect management, and code analysis.
-
Define systems software design requirements and help set engineering policies, standards, and procedures for the team.
-
Work independently with minimal supervision, applying professional judgment to solve complex technical problems.
Requirements
-
A degree in a relevant field (or equivalent practical experience) plus 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
-
Solid, hands-on experience with C++ and Qt in a Linux environment.
-
Experience with 3D geometry and image-processing algorithms involving complex 3D calculations.
-
Comfort with modern IDEs and build systems, working with minimal supervision.
-
Experience with version control systems and CI/CD development practices.
-
Familiarity with unit testing as a standard part of the development workflow.
-
Strong attention to detail and sound judgment when evaluating technical trade-offs.
Preferred
- Prior experience developing surgical planning systems or other pharmaceutical software.
