About The Role
Peraton is hiring an Enterprise Infrastructure Software Data Engineer to join our Cyber Mission business unit in Laurel, Maryland. As a Software Data Engineer on our team, you will support one of the largest enterprise-wide engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community. This is a full-time position requiring 1880 hours of support per year; and work is performed at a customer location.
As an Enterprise Infrastructure Software Data Engineer, you will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based upon documented requirements; review and test software components for adherence to the design requirements and document test results; and you will utilize software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the environment.
You will provide specific input to the software components of system design to include the use of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) / Government Off-The-Shelf (GOTS) in place of new development. You will develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas. #MDFSP #AJCM
Qualifications
Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or appropriate field from an accredited college or university and eight (8) years of demonstrated experience in software engineering OR
-
Six (6) years of experience in software engineering with a Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or appropriate field from an accredited college or university OR
-
Three (3) years of experience in software engineering with a PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or appropriate field from an accredited college or university.

Experience designing, deploying and managing cloud infrastructure using Open Stack and other comparable platforms
-
Strong Linux and Python background

Understanding of IT management and operations

Position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph

Peraton is prime contractor for an IC customer on a program which includes support to a Test Center mission, test tool automation & development, and image quality services.
About The Role
We are seeking a motivated product quality SYSTEM ENGINEER to support the planning, test development, data definition, and task execution for new and existing products within the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG). The candidate will need to write clear test plans to satisfy the test objective. They will work with a team of image scientists, image analysts, photogrammetrists, and statisticians to perform specific tasks, track issues, and clearly communicate status and results to multiple stakeholders.
The mission spans many data providers and sensor phenomenology's including electrical-optical, RADAR, LIDAR, OPIR, motion, multi- and hyper-spectral. We work to verify and validate product visual quality, as well as the accuracy of the support data. The qualified candidate should have experience with test design to verify and validate products against requirements to meet planned concept of operations. The ideal candidate will have image science or imagery analysis experience or knowledge ready to apply to the challenges of the group. Good written and verbal communication and teamwork are critical.
Location: This position is 100% onsite in St. Louis, MO. Remote or hybrid work is not available.
Qualifications

Required Experience/Education:

Must have a minimum of a Top Secret clearance and willing to upgrade clearance to TS/SCI and pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment or at customers request- Contract requires TS/SCI with poly.

Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Software Engineering, or a related Science or Engineering

8 years of system engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree or 6 years of experience with a Master's degree to include independent testing and data verification, requirements, and development of concept of operations.

Experience with sensor imaging systems, products, and exploitation processes
-
Strong written and oral communication skills, with emphasis on briefing to obtain decisions and solve technical issues and test plans/reports writing

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Willingness to learn, solve problems and perform in a dynamic work environment
Preferred Skillset:
-
Experience in remote sensing phenomenologies (for example EO/IR/SAR)

Knowledge of NSG tasking, collection, processing, exploitation and dissemination (TCPED) image chain

Experience with product quality assessments, visual or metadata assessments

Target Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
