ESA is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This is a full-time, in-person role that supports day-to-day accounting functions and assists with financial reporting and internal control processes. We welcome applicants ranging from early-career accounting professionals to those with a few years of experience — this role offers meaningful room to grow, with a path toward higher-level accounting positions and opportunities to work across ESA's subsidiaries.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, solid Excel skills, and a working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Position Details
Job Title: Staff Accountant
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: In-Person (75 W 3rd Ave, Huntington, WV 25701)
Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 annually depending on experience
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/ Corporate Controller
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (required)
0–3 years of accounting experience (candidates at all experience levels within this range are encouraged to apply)
Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to work independently and with a team
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and post routine journal entries
Perform cash reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Assist with month-end closing and financial reporting support
Help maintain internal controls and support audit documentation
Provide minor accounts payable assistance as needed
Maintain organized financial records and assist with clerical duties
Complete other accounting-related duties as assigned
Assist with all other duties assigned
