Role Description

The Estimation Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar. This role is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents for fire protection, electro-mechanical, and related projects, in line with Qatar construction codes and applicable standards. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing drawings and specifications, conducting quantity take-offs, coordinating with engineering and project teams, and obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations. The Estimation Engineer will support bid preparation, participate in technical and commercial discussions, and assist in value engineering and cost optimization. The role also involves maintaining estimation records, supporting ongoing projects with revised estimates, and collaborating with management to ensure competitive and accurate proposals.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong BOQ and Project Estimation skills, including quantity take-off, cost analysis, and tender preparation.

  • Candidates should possess Civil Engineering knowledge relevant to construction, fire protection, and electro-mechanical systems.

  • Candidates should possess effective Negotiation skills for coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Candidates should possess solid Research abilities to gather technical, market, and pricing information for accurate estimates.

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • Experience in fire protection, MEP, or construction projects in Qatar or the GCC region is highly beneficial.

  • Familiarity with Qatar National Construction Codes, NFPA/QCDD standards, and local regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency in estimation and spreadsheet software; CAD or design software knowledge is an advantage.

  • Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills, with attention to detail.

  • Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and communicate clearly in English; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
