Job description
We're building the OS for the digital workspace: strategic transformation supported by data from the edge, day-to-day operations automated at scale, and end user devices deployed anywhere in the world at the click of a button.
The platform is being built now. What you write will be in production quickly and used by named enterprise customers, rather than sitting in a backlog.
This is a hands-on build role. A handful of engineers own the whole platform, so you will own features end to end: schema, API, front end, deployment, and whatever breaks at 4pm on a Thursday. There's no separate platform team, so you'll see your work all the way through ā with the rest of the team alongside you.
What you'll do
āBuild front-end and back-end features on our core stack: C# / .NET, TypeScript, Vue, SQL Server, Azure
āDesign and consume APIs, and integrate third-party platforms so they hold up in production
āBuild and maintain our Azure services (App Services, Functions, Storage) using infrastructure as code (Bicep), and tune the database for performance and reliability
āBuild and maintain our CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps (there's no separate DevOps team), and ship deployments that don't need a rollback
āWrite unit tests with real coverage that hold up beyond the happy path
āMonitor logs, alerts, and error reporting, and fix infrastructure problems before a customer reports them
āUse AI coding tools (we use Claude Code) to move faster, and review every line of the output before it lands
What we're looking for: We are not fixed on years of experience. We are fixed on whether you can build and run production software on this stack.
āStrong C# / .NET and TypeScript, with solid Vue experience
āSQL Server: you can model data properly and diagnose a slow query yourself
āHands-on Azure experience in a production environment
āGit and Azure DevOps
āCode that is structured, secure, and right-sized for the problem, and you know where that balance sits
āComfortable being one of a handful of engineers, with the autonomy and the exposure that comes with it
āStrong communication and collaboration. You explain your thinking clearly, work well with people outside engineering, and own your mistakes as readily as your wins
āUK-based, with the existing right to work in the UK. This role is remote within the UK only. We are not able to sponsor visas or employ from outside the UK.
Nice to have
āCharting libraries, particularly eCharts
āEnd-user computing or IT support background, which gives you the context for what we're building
āA portfolio or public repos we can look at
How we work
Fully remote across the UK, with the whole team getting together at head office every so often, and we'd want you to enjoy that side of it too. Small team, short decision chains, no layers to route around. You will talk directly to the people who use the product and to the people who sell it. We back new tools and frameworks where they earn their place, and we'd want you making the case for the ones you think we should adopt.
Pay: £45,000.00-£75,000.00 per year
Application question(s):
-
Are you currently based in the UK?
-
Do you have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship, now and for the duration of employment?
-
How many years of commercial experience do you have with C# / .NET?
-
How many years of commercial experience do you have with Vue (2 or 3)?
-
Have you built, managed, and deployed applications to Azure infrastructure?
-
Which of these have you used in a production role? (Azure DevOps / SQL Server performance tuning / CI-CD pipeline ownership / eCharts or similar charting library)
-
Briefly: describe a production incident you diagnosed and fixed yourself.
Work Location: Hybrid remote in London
