  • AU CSOL: this role is on the national occupation list. The posting doesn't state a salary we could check against the threshold.

Job description

Ready to thrive with one of Australia’s fastest-growing, most innovative tech companies on the sunny Gold Coast?

We're not just any tech company; we're an award-winning powerhouse on a mission to revolutionise the automotive industry.

We are looking for a

Full Stack Developer

to join our crew! You’ll sit inside a cross-functional team of product managers, business analysts, designers, engineers, and testers, turning requirements into features that are shipped, tested, and documented.

This one is AI-first, and we mean it as the default way we build. We direct AI coding tools to draft code, tests, and documentation, then apply engineering judgement to verify, correct, and take accountability for the result. We're after someone who already works this way, or is close and hungry to get there. Lifting our front-end throughput is the immediate need, and you'll help the team close its full stack gap as we go.

The Role:

  • Full time

  • Design, build, and ship features end-to-end, across the front end (JavaScript/TypeScript, React, micro-frontends) and the back end (C#/.NET, GraphQL, AWS serverless).

  • Use AI coding assistants such as Claude Code as a core part of your daily workflow, for planning, code, tests, and documentation, not as an occasional aid.

  • Critically review what the AI gives you before it ships. You catch the logic errors, security gaps, and edge cases it missed, and you own anything merged under your name.

  • Direct AI work across multiple branches or tasks in parallel while keeping review quality high, and help shape how the team does the same.

  • Write and maintain automated tests to the standard the project requires, AI-assisted where it makes sense.

  • Take part in code review, with feedback aimed at the judgement calls rather than the boilerplate.

  • Document product, technical, and test decisions in the team’s shared knowledge base and keep them current as scope changes, so knowledge compounds across the team instead of sitting with one person.

  • Contribute honestly to stand-ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives, including on progress and blockers.

  • Champion automation across testing, integration and deployment, and flag where AI can safely do more.

  • Raise ambiguity in business rules, the data model, or security decisions early rather than resolving it on your own.

  • Work to our technology standards, coding conventions and security review habits, including lightweight threat modelling.

  • Join the after-hours support roster for planned maintenance and software incidents.

About you:

  • Proven professional experience building production web applications across the front end and back end.

  • Demonstrated daily, hands-on use of AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) as a core part of how you work.

  • Comfortable directing AI and pulling apart what comes back. You can spot where the output is subtly wrong, insecure, or overconfident.

  • Practical experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and a component framework such as React. Micro-frontend exposure is a bonus; willingness to learn it is the baseline.

  • Practical experience with at least one modern server-side language or framework (C#/.NET, Node.js, or similar) and API design in REST or GraphQL.

  • Familiar with cloud infrastructure and serverless patterns such as AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and AppSync.

  • Working knowledge of automated testing, and happy to rely on AI-authored tests once you have verified them.

  • Strong written communication. You can document a decision and the reasoning behind it for other people to use, not just yourself.

  • Collaborative and low ego in code review and pairing, as comfortable receiving critique on AI-assisted work as giving it.

  • Genuinely curious about AI-assisted engineering practice, and keen to improve how the team works rather than just your own output.

  • An IT degree or comparable industry experience.

  • Gold Coast based.
