Build the engine behind websites that sell hypercars.

All Auto Network designs, builds and markets websites for exotic, luxury and classic car dealers selling Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, Rimac, Zenvo and Spyker, and more. We work with hundreds of dealerships, including some of the largest exotic dealer groups in the country.

Clients see the websites. Underneath is a platform we built ourselves:

  • inventory feeds that move thousands of vehicles and photos every day and syndicate them to third-party marketplaces

  • lead routing into dealer CRMs, including location-aware routing for multi-location dealer groups

  • vehicle-acquisition programs that help dealers buy cars directly from the public

  • integrations with dozens of automotive vendors

  • the internal admin, billing and reporting tools our whole company runs on

On our sites, a vehicle page is never just a page. It's wired to live inventory data, photos, search rankings, ad campaigns, lead routing and the dealer's CRM. That's the system you'll own.

And there's always something custom on the bench. Recent examples:

  • a specialty auction platform

  • an acquisition program expanding from classic cars into exotics, motorcycles and boats

  • an outside website moving onto our platform without losing the search rankings it has earned

What makes this role different

We're not hiring someone to close tickets on one slice of a giant codebase. We want a builder. You'll design new systems, keep proven ones running, and decide where the platform goes next. Most developers only get to do one of those. Here you'll do all three.

You'll own real production systems from start to finish: architect, build, test, ship and support. The people who depend on your work are down the hall in support, accounting, operations and project management. When you ship a tool on Tuesday, you'll watch someone use it Wednesday morning.

Keep it running. Make it better. Decide what's next.

Our stack is Laravel and PHP at the core, Node.js services alongside it, React and Next.js for a growing set of tools and front ends, MySQL, and Linux. Some of that PHP has been running dealer sites reliably for years. Running a platform like that well means three things:

  • Keep it running. Understand why the existing code works before you change it, and keep it reliable for the people who depend on it every day.

  • Make it better. Spot where it's holding the business back, and fix it in deliberate steps. Don't rewrite things just to follow a trend, and don't let anything rot.

  • Decide what's next. Turn what you learn into upgrade plans covering the approach, the tradeoffs, the risks and the rollout. Then present them to leadership and lead the work once they're approved.

Your voice will shape our architecture. Senior leadership and our systems administrator are your partners on infrastructure and the biggest bets. Bring them a well-reasoned plan and they'll back you.

What you'll own

  • The design and build of new systems, services and integrations, from first sketch to production

  • Our in-house Laravel and PHP applications: admin tools, reports, billing workflows and dealer back offices

  • Node.js services and tools, plus front ends built in React, Next.js and whatever framework fits the job best

  • Inventory feeds that import, normalize and distribute vehicle data and images over XML, JSON, CSV, FTP/SFTP and APIs

  • Lead forms, CRM delivery, spam protection and role-based access

  • MySQL schema design, migrations, data quality and query performance

  • Production health on Linux: logs, processes, workers and service status

  • Safe releases: staging, deployment, monitoring and rollback

  • The modernization roadmap: what to upgrade, in what order, and why

  • Daily work in Claude Code and Cursor (we pay for them), with every change reviewed and tested before it ships

A week in the role

  • Monday: a dealer's inventory feed starts sending malformed data. You trace it from the vendor's file through parsing and into the database, and the cars are back on the site by lunch.

  • Tuesday: a price-history job takes over a minute to run. You rework the queries and get it down to a couple of seconds.

  • Wednesday: you sketch the architecture for a new multi-location inventory feature. You weigh the data model, how it touches existing sites, and what could break.

  • Thursday: you present a plan to move an aging feed process onto Laravel queues. You cover what it costs, what it risks and how you'll roll it out safely. Leadership signs off.

  • Friday: you ship a React dashboard on top of a Laravel API that saves the support team an hour a day, with a rollback plan you won't need.

Where it leads

We're a small company that does big things, and we don't pigeonhole people. Your influence over the platform grows as fast as your judgment proves out. Developers here have grown into technical leadership, systems administration, data and automation, and marketing technology. You choose the direction, and our senior team helps you get there.

What you bring

  • 4+ years of full stack development, with deep PHP at the core, including serious work in mature code you didn't write

  • Proof that you can build systems, not just features. You've designed something real and shipped it, and you've lived with your decisions in production.

  • Sound judgment across tradeoffs. Before choosing an approach, you weigh performance, reliability, cost, security, maintainability and the people who'll use it.

  • The ability to sell a plan. You can explain a technical direction to non-technical leadership in plain terms, with its risks and payoff.

  • Strong Laravel: architecture, queues and workers, console commands, migrations, configuration and deployments

  • Modern JavaScript: real Node.js experience, React or Next.js on the front end, and the range to pick up whatever framework a project calls for

  • Strong MySQL, including schema design and performance tuning

  • API and data-integration experience: JSON, XML, CSV, FTP/SFTP, webhooks and scheduled imports

  • Comfort on the Linux command line, plus disciplined habits around version control, staging, backups and rollback

Bonus points

  • You've led a legacy modernization or platform migration from plan to finish

  • Inventory, e-commerce, CRM or data-feed experience

  • Building internal admin, reporting or operations tools

  • Adding automated tests to systems that relied on manual testing

  • Daily AI-assisted development, with the judgment to spot when the output is wrong

You don't need to know cars. We'll teach you the automotive side.

How we work

  • Practical over flashy. We want technology that's useful and understandable to the people who rely on it, not technology for its own sake.

  • We don't hand clients a template and walk away. We build, listen and refine until it actually fits how their business runs.

  • A small team doing big work, with no layers of bureaucracy. Designers, developers, systems, marketing and support all work on the same problems, and good work gets noticed.

  • On-site in Gurnee about four days a week, with flexible work-from-home when life calls for it. Beyond that, we care about ownership and results, not rigid hours.

How we hire

We want proof, not buzzwords. Our process shows us how you build, how you think, and how you'd make the case for a change.

  • Phone call: a short conversation about your experience and the systems you've built.

  • Walkthrough, in person in Gurnee: bring something you designed and built, and take us through the architecture, the decisions behind it, and what you'd do differently now.

  • Practical exercise: we hand you a small legacy system. Fix a real problem in it, then put together a short upgrade plan you'd pitch to leadership. AI tools are welcome.

  • Meet the team: talk with the people you'd work with every day.

We move quickly and keep you updated along the way. When you apply, include a few sentences about a system you designed and built, and one key decision you made along the way.
