We are seeking an experienced and high-performing Full Stack Engineer who works on broad problems of diverse scope that require decision making and creativity. This role is central to our mission of protecting investors and maintaining fair and efficient markets. The ideal candidate is a versatile, self-driven developer who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of complex technical challenges, and actively leverages AI-powered tools to accelerate and elevate the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Job Title: Java Full Stack Developer

Location: Rockville, MD or Reston, VA

Duration: Long Term

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on full stack development experience

• Demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality, production-grade software

Required Technical Skills:

Backend Development:

• Expert-level Java development with spring and spring boot expertise.

• Proven experience designing and building microservices and RESTful APIs at enterprise scale

• Strong database design and query optimization skills across relational systems (PostgreSQL, SQL, MongoDB, Spark SQL)

• Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and data processing

Frontend Development:

• Expert in building scalable, enterprise-grade web applications using React, Angular, and JavaScript

• Experience with component-driven architecture and modern frontend best practices

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+) standards

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or equivalent)

• Experience designing and maintaining comprehensive regression test suites

• Familiarity with performance testing tools and methodologies

• Strong commitment to test-driven development (TDD) and code quality

Cloud & Infrastructure:

• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, ECS, Fargate, S3, RDS, Lambda, and EMR

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)

AI-Augmented Development:

• Demonstrated experience using Generative AI tools (e.g., Kiro, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) to accelerate code generation, optimization, and development workflows

• Ability to apply GenAI techniques to improve SDLC processes including requirements analysis, code review, test generation, and documentation

• Familiarity with AI/ML modeling concepts and integrating AI capabilities into applications

Key Responsibilities:

• Possesses a solid understanding and familiarity of systems and processes within job area.

• Preemptively identifies and resolves technical risks before they jeopardize the project. Resolves cross-team dependencies earlier to ensure the successful execution of the project.

• Solves complex business problems and implement ways to simplify code and infrastructure. Prioritizes tasks that lead to lower system and infrastructure maintenance and migration costs with meaningful and measurable impact.

• Design, develop, and maintain robust full-stack applications supporting regulatory operations

• Apply GenAI tools and techniques throughout the SDLC to improve developer productivity, code quality, and delivery speed

• Build and enforce automated testing strategies to ensure code reliability, performance, and scalability

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including product, data, and compliance stakeholders — to deliver high-impact software solutions

• Lead and participate in code reviews, uphold coding standards, and mentor peers

• Continuously optimize application performance, scalability, and maintainability

• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and DevOps best practices
