Our challenge:
We are seeking a skilled Generative AI Engineer with hands-on experience using Claude and Devin AI to accelerate software development, automate engineering workflows, and build production-ready AI applications. The ideal candidate will combine strong software engineering fundamentals with practical expertise in large language models, AI-assisted development, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and enterprise AI integration.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Charlotte, NC is $100k - $110k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities:

Develop AI-powered applications using Claude models, APIs, SDKs, and enterprise AI platforms.

Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation applications using enterprise documents and data.

Design and optimize prompts for accuracy, consistency, relevance, and cost efficiency.

Develop AI agents using function calling, tool use, structured outputs, and agentic workflows.
-
Integrate Claude into internal tools, customer-facing products, APIs, and business processes.
-
Use Devin AI to accelerate feature development, debugging, testing, refactoring, documentation, and code migration.
-
Create clear task specifications, prompts, acceptance criteria, and workflows for Devin AI.
-
Review, validate, test, and improve code generated or modified by Devin AI.

Use Devin AI for codebase analysis, dependency upgrades, bug resolution, pull request preparation, and CI/CD troubleshooting.

Establish standards for secure, reliable, maintainable, and production-ready AI-generated code.

Integrate AI coding agents with Git repositories, issue-tracking tools, CI/CD pipelines, and project management platforms.

Develop APIs and backend services using Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, or similar technologies.

Build data pipelines for document ingestion, processing, chunking, indexing, retrieval, and evaluation.

Deploy AI applications on AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or similar platforms.

Implement monitoring for model usage, cost, latency, quality, errors, and security.
Requirements:
-
Bachelorâs or Masterâs degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

Experience in software engineering, machine learning, data science, or AI engineering.

Hands-on experience developing applications using Claude or other large language model APIs.

Practical experience using Devin AI or comparable AI software engineering agents.
-
Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript.

Experience with REST APIs, SDK integrations, databases, and cloud-based applications.

Strong understanding of large language models and their capabilities and limitations.

Experience with prompt engineering, context management, RAG, function calling, and AI agents.

Experience with model evaluation, testing, monitoring, and optimization.

Experience with Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, pull requests, CI/CD, and Agile development.

Familiarity with Docker and cloud deployment practices.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred, but not required:

Experience with Anthropic Claude models, Claude API, Amazon Bedrock, or similar enterprise AI platforms.

Experience building Claude-powered assistants, agents, automation tools, or developer platforms.

Experience with Devin AI repository integration, task delegation, autonomous development, and workflow automation.

Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, OpenAI Codex, or Cline.

Knowledge of LangChain, LlamaIndex, Model Context Protocol, Semantic Kernel, or similar frameworks.
