Position Summary

The Accounting oversees all financial, accounting, and cash-flow activities for our iron and steel scrap recycling operations. This role manages scrap-specific accounting tasks, including weighbridge ticket reconciliation, scrap grade yield valuations, scrap purchase cash management, and inventory write-downs.

Key Responsibilities

• Scrap & Inventory Accounting: Manage metal scrap inventory accounting (HMS 1/2, shred, turning, busheling). Track weight variances, moisture deductions, and sorting loss ratios.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.

• Cost Accounting: Calculate processing cost per metric ton (shredding, baling, torching, freight/transportation costs) and analyze yield margins across different scrap grades.

• Procurement & Scale Reconciliation: Oversee Accounts Payable for raw scrap purchases, ensuring weighbridge weigh-in/weigh-out records align with vendor payments and scale software integration.

• Cash Flow Management: Manage immediate cash payouts for scrap deliveries while maintaining tight internal controls and anti-fraud measures on high-volume cash transactions.

• Taxation & Compliance: Oversee local/national VAT/sales tax rules specific to scrap metal recycling, reverse-charge mechanisms, and environmental tax filings.

• Team Leadership: Direct, mentor, and evaluate junior accountants, scale managers, and billing staff.

Requirements & Qualifications

Pay: ﷼4,500.00 - ﷼6,000.00 per month
