General Accountant โ€“ Medical Centre

Location: Sharjah, UAE

Job Overview

We are looking for a General Accountant to join our medical centre in Sharjah. The ideal candidate should have solid accounting experience in the UAE, with previous experience in a medical centre, clinic, hospital, healthcare group, or similar healthcare organization.

The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, handling accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, VAT-related records, and supporting monthly financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.

  • Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

  • Prepare invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.

  • Perform bank, supplier, and account reconciliations.

  • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on pending payments.

  • Maintain proper records of expenses, petty cash, and supplier payments.

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and accounting summaries.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing.

  • Maintain the General Ledger and supporting documentation.

  • Assist with UAE VAT records, reporting, and compliance.

  • Coordinate with external auditors when required.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential financial records.

  • Work closely with management and other departments regarding financial matters.

  • Handle other accounting and finance duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2โ€“3 years of accounting experience in the UAE.

  • Previous experience in a medical centre, clinic, hospital, or healthcare organization is required/preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of UAE accounting practices and VAT regulations.

  • Good understanding of AP, AR, General Ledger, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting.

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Experience with accounting software/ERP systems.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good command of English.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge of medical/healthcare billing and insurance-related accounting is a strong advantage.

  • Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred.

  • Medical billing and collections

  • VAT and UAE tax requirements

  • Supplier and insurance company reconciliations
