Job Overview
We are looking for a General Accountant to join our medical centre in Sharjah. The ideal candidate should have solid accounting experience in the UAE, with previous experience in a medical centre, clinic, hospital, healthcare group, or similar healthcare organization.
The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, handling accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, VAT-related records, and supporting monthly financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities

Manage daily accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.

Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

Prepare invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries.

Perform bank, supplier, and account reconciliations.

Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on pending payments.

Maintain proper records of expenses, petty cash, and supplier payments.

Prepare monthly financial reports and accounting summaries.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing.

Maintain the General Ledger and supporting documentation.

Assist with UAE VAT records, reporting, and compliance.

Coordinate with external auditors when required.

Maintain accurate and confidential financial records.

Work closely with management and other departments regarding financial matters.

Handle other accounting and finance duties assigned by management.
Requirements
-
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum 2โ3 years of accounting experience in the UAE.

Previous experience in a medical centre, clinic, hospital, or healthcare organization is required/preferred.

Strong knowledge of UAE accounting practices and VAT regulations.

Good understanding of AP, AR, General Ledger, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting.

Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Experience with accounting software/ERP systems.

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good command of English.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Knowledge of medical/healthcare billing and insurance-related accounting is a strong advantage.

Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred.
