We welcome applications from recent graduates as well as engineers with a couple of years of post-graduate experience, and the role will be shaped around your experience.

This opportunity offers a high degree of carefully supported responsibility from the outset. You’ll deal directly with clients and get involved in the detailed design of a wide variety of projects, while gaining invaluable experience working alongside a friendly team of experienced professionals. We’ll support your professional development and progress towards chartership.

  • An understanding of the design of building structures and the main structural materials (concrete, steel, timber and masonry); industry design experience is a bonus but not essential

  • Attention to detail when producing structural calculations

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team

  • Familiarity with TEDDS, Tekla and AutoCAD is desirable; full training will be provided

What you’ll be doing

  • Working alongside the directors and engineers in the office

  • Preparing initial design ideas and sketch schemes

  • Producing design calculation packages

  • Working with and instructing engineering technicians to produce drawings

  • Contributing to an exceptionally varied portfolio, from the sensitive repair and adaptation of listed buildings, country houses, castles and cathedrals, through the reuse of historic structures for new purposes, to contemporary new-build schemes for education, commercial and private clients For candidates with post-graduate experience, we’ll offer greater responsibility in line with your experience, including leading smaller projects and taking a more active role in client liaison.

Pay: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
