Meijer offers an 11-week internship program that challenges interns to deliver innovative solutions to real projects that impact the business. Throughout the course of the internship experience, we deliver diverse personal and professional development opportunities that further develop skillsets that can be implemented both during and after the program. What you will be doing as an IT Intern** :

Meijer is seeking candidates for Information Security. The Information Security team is responsible for the security technologies, compliance programs, and secure coding practices that protect Meijer and our customers. Data security is of paramount importance in a retail environment, and interns get exposure to how a large retailer defends itself at scale.

Qualifications

  • Progress toward a bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or a related field

  • Customer focused โ€” dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers

  • Relationship skills โ€” builds positive working relationships with customers, team members, leadership, and other internal and external partners

  • Communication skills โ€” explains technical work clearly, in writing and verbally, including to non-technical audiences

Preferred Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

For Information Security

  • Foundational information security concepts and secure coding practices

  • Functional understanding of IP networking

  • Knowledge of routing and firewall operations

  • Identity and access management and zero-trust concepts

  • Endpoint / anti-malware and email security

  • SIEM platforms and intrusion detection or prevention products

  • Cloud security posture, vulnerability management, or incident response
