POSITION PURPOSE:
As an Infrastructure Engineer, this role is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of CIM’s IT infrastructure architecture, as well as planning and maintenance of our cloud-based applications, platforms, and environments. The Infrastructure Engineer works with other Technology staff to identify system needs, propose solutions, and implement system changes. This role reinforces the Company’s infrastructure operations by keeping back-end technology running, while focusing on the administration of cloud-based platforms and tenants.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role will work on the architecture design, deployment, and management of the following components, but not limited to:

Microsoft Azure
-
Design, deploy, and maintain Azure IaaS infrastructure including virtual machines, virtual networks, storage accounts, and availability sets/zones to support enterprise workloads and ensure high availability.

Manage Azure resource provisioning and optimization, including sizing, scaling policies, architecture, and monitoring to balance performance, protection, and spending.

Support Azure Financial Operations (FinOps) by tracking, analyzing, forecasting, and optimizing cloud expenditure; identify cost-saving opportunities, monitor budgets and usage trends, and provide reporting and recommendations to IT management.

Apply security best practices to Azure compute and network resources, including patch management, network security groups, role-based access control (RBAC), and alignment with organizational compliance requirements.

Leverage Microsoft-native tools—including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Advisor, Azure Policy, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, and Azure Cost Management—to monitor health and performance, troubleshoot issues, enforce governance and security standards, and optimize Azure resources.

Support infrastructure operations, focused on Microsoft Platforms.

Microsoft SharePoint and Power App administration.

Microsoft Active Directory administration (including Group Policy).

Microsoft Copilot, Purview, Copilot Studio, Cloud Foundry.

Infrastructure file servers, applications, and databases.
-
Datacenter, Backup, & Disaster Recovery.
-
LAN, WAN, wireless, and network connectivity.
-
Endpoint Security, Mobile Device Management, and Vulnerability Management.
-
Evaluate network performance including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency.
-
Leverage and support the adoption of Microsoft AI capabilities, including Microsoft Copilot and related agents, connectors, and automation, to improve productivity and business processes.

Provide service for escalated incidents and problems using ServiceNow or Jira.

Vendor coordination and participation in infrastructure projects.
-
Security remediation and audit/compliance support.
-
After-hours maintenance or on-call support, if applicable.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)

Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field preferred (e.g. Computer Science).

Minimum six years of experience in an infrastructure role.

Relevant industry certifications preferred (e.g. Azure Administrator Associate, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, CCNA, Security+, Microsoft, or comparable credentials).

Expert knowledge of cloud environments: Azure, Microsoft 365, etc.

Expert knowledge of Windows Server technologies.
-
Expert knowledge of SharePoint Online, including sites, libraries, permissions, and integrations.

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint administration.

Expert knowledge of Active Directory.

Strong knowledge of Windows client operating systems and endpoint management.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Infrastructure support.

Strong knowledge of network fundamentals, design and implementation (IP, gateway, DNS, routing).

Strong knowledge of Nutanix, VMware or comparable Hypervisor stack.

Strong knowledge of network devices (Routers, Switches, Wireless).

Experience with PowerShell automation.

Experience with Microsoft Intune or comparable endpoint management.

Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, and Cloud Foundry.

Security hardening and vulnerability remediation.
