The role

As Instrumentation and Data Engineer, you'll plan and run the instrumentation, data acquisition and telemetry systems that validate our test and launch activities. Your job is to make sure the right data is captured, correctly timed and documented, kept secure, and handed over to customers as agreed.

Key responsibilities

• Define sensors, signal conditioning, timing, telemetry, RF and digital interfaces for test and launch activities • Configure data acquisition sampling and real-time monitoring • Maintain calibration and configuration records for instrumentation and data systems • Ensure data synchronisation, metadata, storage, backups and controlled transfer • Hand data over to customers in line with agreed requirements • Support fault diagnosis during setup, testing and campaigns • Coordinate mounting, power, cabling and physical interfaces with the Range Systems Engineer • Support instrumentation at our sites, including filling the Range Systems Support role during campaigns

What you'll bring

• A degree in electrical, electronic, mechatronics, aerospace or a related engineering discipline • Hands-on experience with sensors, signal conditioning and data acquisition systems • Experience with telemetry, RF or timing and synchronisation systems • A disciplined approach to calibration, configuration control and data management • Experience troubleshooting instrumentation in the field • Clear documentation habits and attention to detail • Willingness to travel to remote sites in field conditions during campaigns • Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain a security clearance

Highly regarded

• Experience in test and evaluation, range, flight test, launch, aerospace or defence environments • Experience with high-speed or high-channel-count data acquisition • Scripting or software skills for data processing and automation • Experience with data security, controlled transfer or handling sensitive customer data • A current NV1 security clearance

Why join us

• Ownership of the data that proves every test and launch campaign • Work that supports Australia's sovereign space and defence capability • A capable, close-knit team

• Field work at some of Australia's most remote and unique test sites • A competitive remuneration package

If you care about getting clean, reliable data from complex test environments, we'd like to hear from you.
