Job description

About the role

Arabian Private Holdings is currently supporting a significant mandate for an investment group based in Abu Dhabi. We require an Intern - Data Analyst to help us parse complex financial datasets and corporate structures to ensure our advice remains rooted in clear evidence. This position provides the data foundations that allow our principals to form a rigorous view on portfolio health and strategy.

About Arabian Private Holdings

Our firm was built on the idea that many business problems do not require a massive consulting team or a hundred page methodology deck. Instead, they require direct access to experienced partners who focus on clarity over complexity. We work with family groups, listed corporations, and government entities to address questions of governance, corporate strategy, and operating models. As a remote firm, we avoid the overhead of traditional offices, focusing entirely on the quality of our analysis and the outcomes for our clients. We take on a limited number of mandates to ensure that every client receives direct attention from the principals who are actually accountable for the outcome. When a board needs to make a decision about capital or succession, they come to us for an independent and honest perspective.

What you will do

  • Analyze financial performance across different entities within a specific portfolio to identify trends or risks.

  • Clean and organize datasets from multiple sources to ensure accuracy during the mandate lifecycle.

  • Prepare clear visualizations that explain complex ownership structures and capital flows to our principals.

  • Conduct research on market benchmarks to help the firm form a view on regional industry standards.

  • Assist in the review of operating models by identifying data inconsistencies that suggest inefficiency.

  • Monitor economic indicators relevant to our current work with the investment group based in Abu Dhabi.

  • Contribute to internal briefing notes by summarizing quantitative findings in plain, precise English.

  • Support the development of internal tools that help our team track portfolio performance more effectively.

What we are looking for

  • A strong grasp of basic statistics and a logical approach to problem solving.

  • Basic familiarity with tools like Excel or Python for data manipulation and analysis.

  • The ability to write clearly and explain numerical findings without relying on technical jargon.

  • Curiosity about how large organizations and holding companies function in practice.

  • High attention to detail when dealing with large or messy datasets from varied sources.

  • Comfort working independently and communicating effectively in a fully remote environment.

How we work

We operate as a fully remote team, which requires a high degree of trust and clear communication. Because we are a principal-led firm, you will not be buried in a hierarchy: you will work directly with the people who are accountable for the advice we give. This model allows for meaningful mentoring, as your work directly informs the decisions made at the highest levels of our client organizations. We value rigor and sobriety in our work, preferring a single accurate page of analysis over a volume of filler. We prioritize the quality of our relationships and the strength of our analysis over aggressive growth targets or traditional office presence. Our goal is to provide honest, independent advice that helps founders and boards manage scaling transitions or portfolio rationalization.

What the role offers

  • Direct exposure to the strategic challenges faced by a major investment group based in Abu Dhabi.

  • A competitive and attractive stipend for the duration of the internship, reflecting the professional nature of the work.

  • Training in how to form a professional view and defend it with data.

  • The flexibility of a fully remote work arrangement that respects your time and productivity.

  • Mentorship from senior partners who have spent decades in corporate advisory and governance.
