Job description

Most companies struggle with the invisible friction of broken internal processes and reports that nobody trusts. At Tech Pipeline, we ignore the high level strategy and focus on fixing the logs, tools, and spreadsheets that actually run the company.

The role

We are hiring an Intern - Data Analyst to support our work with a logistics provider expanding its operations across new territories. This client is growing fast, and our job is to ensure their data architecture stays reliable under the weight of new volume. This is a fully remote position where you will help us clean, organize, and interpret the information that keeps their supply chain moving efficiently.

What you will do

  • Review raw logistics data to identify where manual entry errors are creating bottlenecks in shipping schedules.

  • Clean and structure large datasets to prepare them for migration into a new enterprise management system.

  • Build and maintain daily reports that track the accuracy of inventory levels across different warehouse locations.

  • Analyze transportation logs to find discrepancies between planned routes and actual delivery times.

  • Write clear documentation for how data flows from the warehouse floor into the final management dashboard.

  • Monitor automated data alerts to ensure that system failures are flagged and addressed before they impact deliveries.

  • Compare data from multiple sources to ensure that financial records match the physical movement of goods.

  • Support senior consultants by creating simple visualizations that show where process friction is most common.

  • Update internal guides so the client team knows how to maintain the data pipelines once our engagement ends.

What we are looking for

  • A logical mindset and a genuine interest in finding the root cause of a technical or process error.

  • Strong basic skills in Excel or Google Sheets, including the ability to write and troubleshoot formulas.

  • A clear, direct writing style that allows you to explain complex data issues without using unnecessary jargon.

  • A habit of checking your own work for accuracy and consistency before presenting it to the team.

  • Natural curiosity about how a business operates and how data supports the movement of physical goods.

  • The ability to manage your own time while working in a remote environment with minimal supervision.

  • Familiarity with the concept of databases and how different tables of information connect to each other.

  • A preference for practical, hands on problem solving rather than abstract or theoretical discussions.

What we offer

  • A fully remote work setup that allows you to contribute from your own environment.

  • Direct involvement in a significant project for a growing logistics provider, offering real world experience.

  • Mentorship from senior operations practitioners who value technical skill and clear thinking.

  • A paid internship with a competitive rate for the entry level market and your specific role.

  • A work culture that prioritizes clear written updates and documentation over long, unproductive meetings.

  • The chance to see your work directly improve the daily operations of a large organization.

  • Access to the tools and software necessary to perform professional data analysis.

  • Practical training on how to untangle messy data and build systems that last.

Our work at Tech Pipeline is about stability and clarity. We do not stay with a client forever: we find the friction, fix the underlying logic, and document the process so their team can take over. We prefer to communicate through shared documents and concise status updates rather than sitting in video calls all day. If you enjoy the quiet satisfaction of making a system work exactly the way it is supposed to, you will be a good fit for how we operate. We value people who are more interested in getting the numbers right than in corporate optics.
